Finished….for now. I’ll need to drill the hinge and screwdriver bit holder when I get back to the city shop. I didn’t bring any suitable drill bits with me and the old brace here in the summer shop isn’t the best. No big deal, a few drilled holes and we can call this project done. This was a fun build with a good amount of challenging joinery throughout. Starting with this beautiful butternut and curly maple also helped. I gave it a quick rub with some walnut oil and beeswax to finish. I’m not going to glue this together, it really doesn’t need it. It’ll be nice to pull apart when I show students the options they have when they’re designing and building their own box projects in a few weeks time….It Starts with a Box. I haven’t forgotten you. I don’t know what it is about you that keeps me thinking about you everyday. I find myself wishing I could turn back time and do things differently.
I guess you’ll always be the one who got away.

Good morning for some fresh air!! 💨 🌿 🔥
Spectacular fire takes yet another piece of Glace Bay's historical buildings Saturday night. This building was well over 100 years old. At one time it was the home of the C.N office where you could send and receive telegraphs .
