In fair Verona where we lay our scene, two rival political factions vie for power and will not heed the words of peace.

In disguise Romeo enters Capellio’s palace with two terms: give the Montecchi equal seat in Verona and marry Giulietta to Romeo. Capellio will hear none of it, for it was Romeo who slew Capellio’s son in battle, and he will not give up his last child to the same man.

There is no force on earth that can change his mind, unaware that his implacable desire for vengeance is what will see Giulietta into the same tomb as her brother, and that he will be the last one left alive to blame for the tragedy.

Not to out myself as a Lord Capulet Apologist on main, but if I were in his shoes I also wouldn’t let Romeo within ten leagues of my daughter.

List of Romeo Crimes ™️:

1. Killing my son

2. Proposing peace while marching an army on my stronghold

3. Sending Some Twink with a peace deal that involves giving over half my political power and marrying my daughter off to Romeo himself

4. His response to me vetoing the peace deal is apparently to kill a thousand of my men while claiming it’s my fault

5. Crashing my daughter’s wedding to my favourite retainer by disguising a thousand of his men as wedding guests

6. Is revealed to be Some Twink

7. Is maybe conspiring with my priest?!??

8. Has his men kill a bunch of my men and has the audacity to survive

9. Breaks into my house again, picks a fight with my favourite retainer again, crashes my daughter’s funeral, and survives again

10. Breaks into my daughter’s tomb with his men and manages to somehow kill her a second time

AND THIS IS MY FAULT?!?
