ok so let's talk about free market #capitalism for a second! i see this allllll the time in cosmetics of different brands (i mean, the account this is from is literally called @dupethat, honey) but in this situation this is the SAME COMPANY selling you essentially the same product under two different names in an effort to maximize profit off of something that isn't discernibly different to the average consumer. (that means NOT professional makeup people who like owning fifty variations of the same thing.) this is a practice all kinds of companies engage in - a practice that is, ultimately, a scam to make more money that, as corporations, they will pay minimal tax on. they are taking money out of the hands of consumers and handing them a product that is just a "rebrand" of something they already sell. then the companies get reviewers (no shade to this one, it isn't your fault, we're all slaves to capitalism and everyone's gotta pay for food and rent under it) to say things like how one color is deeper or some twist of semantics (and/or how they "changed" their formula by tweaking one negligible amount of pigment or chemical somewhere, so it "different" under free market rules) to pander it as something new, exciting, and worth whatever ridiculous amount of money they're going to demand in exchange for hustling you. and people buy it, because we want to look pretty, and the cycle of the #ouroboros (look it up) that is capitalism continues unabated. so we wake up another day to continue slaving away for capitalism so we can get scammed some more by people who just want to profit off of us. capitalism is how kylie jenner became a "self made" billionaire. don't be mad at her for that, be mad at capitalism for enabling it to happen. thanks for coming to my ted talk. 😬 #yaycapitalism #capitalismordeath #capitalismworks #chastitycagescapitalismcircus #politicaltop #politicalqueen #dragtivism #dragtivist #politicsareadrag #capitalismkills #capitalismisadrag #fuckcapitalism #thursdaythoughts https://www.instagram.com/p/BwsnukvB7Kf/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1nya06yrxq9ql
