Susanne Bartsch has been at the nexus of fashion and art in the Capitol since the beginning of her storied career. Creative Director, Event Producer and Mom are among her many job titles, but it's her singularity of vision that made her a household name as a fashion icon. She first came to prominence for her NYC store, causing a sensation by importing then little-known English designers such as John Galliano, Leigh Bowery, Vivienne Westwood and Mr. Pearl. She then found her métier producing spectacular happenings around the globe for a roster of high-profile clients. Her star-studded fundraisers produced millions of dollars for those affected by AIDS. Currently, she's the subject of a blockbuster retrospective at F.I.T. called “Fashion Underground: The World of Susanne Bartsch.”
