For the fic scene thing: EMMA SHOWING UP AT THE WEDDING IN LETHOLOGICA FJKDLS. I got distracted writing this because I'm sitting here crying my way through it RIGHT NOW. It's such a vivid and beautiful moment. Also like all the scenes where Emma is going through the calendar. ALSO vivid and beautiful, I can see it all in my head. That whole fic is such a delight, and so perfect and wonderful omg

It’s been so long since I’ve gone back to read that chapter but I was crying when I wrote that scene, if that helps. There are so many things that I am glad have stuck with people because the ones that seemed to resonate the most were the things that happened in real life, and that means so much to me. CSBB Author Spotlight: caprelloidea

Today’s Captain Swan Big Bang Spotlight features @caprelloidea​!

What is your writing process like?

I decide on a setting before anything else.  A place lives and breathes like any person.  I tend to settle into a story by going on about the sounds, sights and smells first.  Then, more often than not, I write a beginning and an end, working backwards scene by scene from the end to fill in the rest.  For longer stories, I find it's easier to maintain continuity that way.  As for writing itself, I'm not a bit by bit sort of person.  I either procrastinate and do nothing or sit down for eight hours and write ten thousand words.

What do you think your greatest strength is as a writer?

I would have to say flexibility.  I've written sci-fi and fantasy and modern, smut and fluff and everything in-between.  I find it relatively easy to switch gears.

What’s a particular trope or kind of story you’ve wanted to try, but haven’t gotten to yet?

I've always wanted to try the small Midwestern town thing.  I grew up in one and it would be fun to throw CS into the wacky situations you run into in little farming villages.  

Who is your favorite OUAT character to write?

Killian Jones, mainly because I identify with him more than any other character.  Plus, the way he speaks and moves and his expressive face make him a really dynamic person to write about.  It's very distinctive.

If you are new to the Captain Swan Big Bang, what made you decide to sign up? What are you looking forward to?

I've had bits and pieces of my story sitting sadly in a document for a good while now.  I thought the CSBB would be a good impetus to finish it.

I’m not gonna lie, was a little worried before I started it bc of talk of war lol thats usually not my thing with fics, but the way you’ve done it and set up everything now and have Emma and Killian on this adventure, just yes, 100% here for it! And how you’ve written everyone, it’s perfect. And I like how in the first chapter you threw us in there and still got a great sense of this Emma’s backstory and her friendship with August. And this Dark Killian is so good and makes so much sense with how he is in your fic vs how he is in canon. I just can’t wait for more!
