Into the Graveyard (for caprice-farci)
Not long after Ezreal had scampered away from the graveyard, he took a moment's respite to gather himself and evaluate his options. The warm orange glow that had permeated the forest was now replaced by a dim cool glow, waxing moon visible through the trees overhead. Stars, too, were visible. Not his stars. This starfield wouldn't be visible anywhere on Runeterra.
That settled it then; definitely not Runeterra. Where's here? More importantly, does it matter? He was confident he could get back to Runeterra without any drama. How often did he get the chance to explore a whole new world?
Well then, what's here waiting to be "discovered"? His imagination ran wild, interrupted by an eerie howl echoing through the forest.
What the… a yell? Probably from that graveyard, best to ignore it. Still… I can probably sneak in and learn something about that building in the center if there's chaos abound.
*Thump thump thump thump thump thump*
The clomp of running was unmistakable… but it wasn't Ezreal. The footfalls reverberated throughout the forest, loudest straight ahead -- someone running from the graveyard. Maybe this isn't a good idea… Ezreal slid behind an enormous tree; he didn't want to be seen even this far out.
*Thump-thump-thump thump-thump-thump thump-thump Thump Thump THUMP-THUMP*
As the steps grew closer, the steps resolved themselves into three separate sets. Whoever these three are, they want away from something and they don't particularly care how much noise they make!
*THUMP THUMP Thump Thump thump-thump thump thump-thump-thump*
The three flew by, nary a sign they'd seen Ezreal. He only had a moment with which to get a glimpse of the trio; combined with the dim night skies, he questioned what he'd just seen.
The eldest of the three seemed only in his mid-teens and very much in pain with his hand. The others, a boy and a girl, seemed younger than ten. Were those horns on her head?
Ezreal had made it back to the Graveyard, and things looked altogether calmer than he would have hoped. Either he'd guessed wrong or feral screams weren't entirely abnormal here. He hoped for the former.
Too late to back out now. His eyes scanned the horizon once more; not a soul in sight. Quietly, he stole across the night and into the Graveyard.
