shuichi did exactly what kokichi wanted him to do. (except maybe for foiling his plan, lol, but kokichi really was underestimating shuichi at every turn, just like literally everyone else, so what can you do.) if kokichi had wanted someone to try to understand him or reach out to him, he wouldn’t have picked at kaede and kaito, the two people who everyone loved the most.
yes he was fucking lonely but he pushed people away intentionally because he cared more about ending a corrupt system than those silly billy notions of friendship in a killing game. kokichi ouma was extremely competent.
