Ten years ago, 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.
His death immediately sparked unrest in the local community and protests soon spread to cities across the country surrounding one central message: Black Lives Matter.

I heard this song while listening to Bob Stanley's wonderful compilation American Baroque (Chamber Pop and Beyond 1967-1971) This is essentially the Left Banke as Steve Martin (no relation) is singing a Michael Brown written and produced song. Remembering Michael Brown who would have turned 29 years old today. In the summer of 2014, 18-year-old Michael had just graduated from high school and was preparing to start college. But his life was cut short when he was fatally shot 12 times by a Ferguson, MO police officer. He was unarmed.
