i was browsing youtube when i came across a vid which was summarized as such: "Should parents have the right to stunt the growth of their severely disabled child to make them more manageable?". How is this even a question. Like their kids are bonsai trees, not people. When learning about how society treats people with disabilities, it's just. Dreadful every time anew.

I’m kind of surprised because that’s one of those big issues still being argued in court and no one usually talks about. Although, I don’t really do YouTube so there’s probably a video about everything

Regarding the post about people "correcting" other people's grammar and language, I've heard about a book regarding the subject, called "Fixing English" by Prof. Anne Curzan, which basically says "If you used language, and the other person understood what you've meant - congrats, you've used it correctly!" - and that attempts to police/regulate language are meant to silence certain voices in society. Haven't read it, but I agree with this sentiment.

Absolutely.

That's how language works, especially with romance languages and you can all argue is much do you want that it's too derivative of German, I still say is a Romance language.

What I think is funny is when people complain about the slang people use in text but a lot of the time it just includes taking out the vowels and back in the day, way back, that's how you wrote. If you were educated enough to read and write and you were supposed to be educated enough to know where the vowels go so you can understand it.
