anyway, in case you didn't know: another asylum seeker boat did recently capsize in the mediterranean carrying hundreds of people seeking refuge in europe. I really hope that the EU starts helping out refugees from places like Syria with the same compassion they did with the refugees from Ukraine, using the same legal framework - and move forward from the 'promising victim' bs and be a little more like germany. the Commission's promise to investigate the disaster is good, and hopefully it amounts to concrete change, because the EU needs to, it's most xenophobic members (like Poland and Hungary) be damned.
