Didn't feel like shaving today, but I have to wear a pantsuit to class so I just shaved my ankles

So I did my presentation today

and i put a picture of mew and mewtwo and compared them to evercookie and canvas fingerprinting. 

Obviously evercookie being mew and canvas being mewtwo

cause you know

evercookie was first and shit, and canvas fingerprinting was extracted from evercookie (specifically HTML5 aspects) and yeah it’s basically a stronger version that’s difficult to get rid of.

made my classmates laugh considering everyone doesn’t pay attention for shit usually.

note to y’all in college:

Tim's Vermeer

A documentary following Tim Jenison's investigation into understanding how Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer was able to paint so photographically centuries before photography was invented.

I was able to see this movie with my capstone class last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Response under the cut.

This was a really interesting film for me. I'd been aware of Vermeer in a peripheral way, as someone who may have come up during an art history class or something, but I hadn't ever really delved into him or his work. So, this movie served both to inform me about Vermeer as well as bringing me along for the exploration of how he might have accomplished his painting.

I'm primarily a drawing person--I'm most familiar and comfortable with dry media such as graphite or charcoal--but I've done enough painting to understand that creating a painting like Vermeer's is very difficult and time-consuming. Watching Tim Jenison learn more about the methods and tools available to Vermeer and then deciding to try doing it himself was awesome in the most literal sense for me, the idea that someone would put that much time and effort into something and then watching it all come together in such a beautiful painting. There were several points during the movie where I wouldn't have believe that what was being shown was real except that I could see it, it was fantastic and astonishing and humbling.

I'd really like to go watch this movie again, actually. At the least, though, watching this movie has given me a desire to learn more about Vermeer and the thought of maybe rigging up a version of the mirror that Tim used for myself and trying it out for myself. Not sure how I'd do that, but the idea of it is kind of nice.
