Splatoon OC of the Week #2 - Jewel
Hello, my name is Julianna, but I much prefer going by Jewel. I was Agent 3 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, but now I've taken the role of its Captain. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I grew up with a lot of family drama. I never really knew my father since he passed when I was little, but I loved my mother and stepfather. After my mother died from an illness, my stepfather got remarried, and suddenly I had a stepmother and three younger stepsiblings - twins and a young child. The twins, Kyle and Kylie, were rivaling leaders of two local Inkopolis gangs, the Hydra Hunters and the Kraken Killers. They'd wreck a section of town by day and sleep under the same roof by night. Our house was constantly chaos! I didn't get along with either of them, and my relationship with my stepmother was even worse. It got to the point where she had me thrown out of the house one night, and to my surprise, my stepfather, who had always put me first, sided with her. Suddenly I was homeless and alone on the streets.
After wandering around for a couple hours, I ran into Derek near Snapper Canal. We didn't know each other before then, and Derek was escaping his abusive household, so we decided to travel together for the night. The two of us managed to make it to Inkopolis Plaza and spent the night in Sheldon's truck (it had just started raining and we need some emergency shelter - also Sheldon left the back of his delivery truck open).
The next morning, we got discovered by Sheldon himself. Derek and I panicked and ran away...which resulted in us falling down an open manhole. Somehow we ended up in Octo Valley in a one-way trip, and wandered around for a bit, lost. It was here that we got ambushed and captured by a group of Octolings. Monica was among them, and we were taken prisoner. Derek and I were prevented from escaping by the ink-proof bars, and were forced to remain there until we could think of an escape plan that would work - which was knocking out the artificial Octoling guards, stealing the keys, and wearing their armor as a disguise.
That disguise worked for a little while before we got found out. Monica's stepbrother Eddison came very close to killing us, but Maya found us and rescued us. This was our first time meeting her, and she took us back to the Squidbeak Splatoon camp to introduce us to Captain Cuttlefish, Agent 1, and Agent 2. Derek and I became Agent 5 and Agent 3 respectively, and got a job at Sheldon's weapon shop to cover for our agent work.
A year later, however, Maya would get killed in Splatsville by Eddison, and we were forced to move to Inkopolis Square. There we met Autumn, and after rescuing her from Monica and her underlings, she became the new Agent 4.
So much happened after Autumn became Agent 4: we went to a costume convention in our agent gear and ended up having to save the day, Derek got captured, we got turned into Octolings and were framed for a crime we didn't commit, traveled back in time to the Great Turf War, traveled through the Deepsea Metro and got sanitized, had to track down Monica in Inkopolis Square to save her from an angry mob, accidentally had a massive falling out with each other after a devastating lie I told about what happened to Autumn's sister Cassandra came to light...
