A - Affection (How do they show affection?)
Barnacles would love to show affection by helping you with small things, telling you how lucky he is to have you and HUGS. Pleaseeee ask this guy for hugs. People say “bear hugs” for a reason you know.
B - Bonding (How do you two bond?)
You and Barnacles would typically find yourselves talking to each other about everything and nothing. In your spare time, you often sip tea or coffee and munch on just about anything the Vegimals make. Whether it’s talking about your day or talking about your interests, he loves hearing your voice.
C - Cuddling (What is their favourite way to cuddle?)
Barnacles LOVES cuddling. When you two cuddle, he will ALWAYS be the big spoon. He has two favourite positions, one being when you’re laying on top of him. Lazily draped over him while you bask in each other’s comfort. He also likes when you two are laying beside each other, arms wrapped around each other and legs intertwined. Although those are his favourites, he will do just about anything. Barnacles just enjoys feeling you with him.
D - Dates (What do dates with them look like?)
Barnacles is happy to do any sort of date with you! He loves spending time with you. His favourite however, is when you both explore a new place and find somewhere quiet. Somewhere where the both of you can rest and have a small picnic together and relax in each other’s presence. (YES some of the food was made by the vegimals.)
E - Equal (Do they prefer to be more dominant or passive in the relationship?)
Barnacles prefers to be more dominant. More because he is protective. Not to an insane amount, just enough that when you even get a paper cut he starts worrying about you.
F - Fight (How fast are they to forgive their S/O?)
Barnacles is relatively quick to forgive you. The main thing he wants is to stop the conflict. Whether it was a bad fight or small fight, he wants to sit down and talk about it with you. He wants to understand your side and wants you to understand his. In the end, he’s just happy the fight is over.
G - Gifts (How do they feel about gift giving?)
Barnacles LOVES gift giving. Pretty much anything he sees that reminds him of you or he thinks you would want, expect it to be in your possession. When you give him gifts, he will LOVE IT. It doesn’t matter if it’s something he wouldn’t like or use, as long as it’s from you he loves it.
H - Honesty (How honest are they with their S/O?)
Barnacles is a really honest guy in general. The only time he would lie is if he is hiding a surprise he has in mind for you. If something was going on, he might try to sugar coat it a little bit, but would be relatively transparent with you.
I - Injury (How would they react if you got injured?)
When you get injured, Barnacles is immediately at your side. If the injury is minor, he’s still a little worried and needs to make sure you’re okay. If it’s major, he immediately is at your side and taking you to Peso. If he can’t be at your side, he’s sending someone else to stay with you and make sure you’re okay.
J - Jealousy (Do they get jealous easily?)
Barnacles isn’t one to get that jealous. He trusts you and knows you won’t cheat on him. However if the person is really getting close or too touchy for his liking, he’ll subtly take you away from the conversation. Barnacles doesn’t want to make it obvious he was getting jealous, so he won’t talk about it much. If you bring it up, he’ll try to play it off, then eventually tell you the truth.
K - Kiss (What was their first kiss like?)
Barnacles was really nervous to kiss you. (As anyone would be cuz you’re fine shyt) The way he initiated it was when you were on one of your picnic dates. After eating as you two were just watching the sunset, he leaned closer to you and kissed you.
L - Love Language (What is their love language?)
Barnacles loves to do acts of service and spend quality time with you. He loves doing small acts like refilling your water when you didn’t ask, taking your dishes when you’re done eating, etc. Barnacles also just loves being with you. Just your presence is enough to make him happy.
M - Marriage (Would they ever get married?)
Barnacles would LOVE to get married. Before proposing he’d try to subtly figure out which country you’d love to visit, then he’d do it there. Barnacles would propose in a nice area where only friends (and maybe some family) are. If you’re the type of person who likes to keep things private, he’d do it in a nice place where it’s just you and him.
N - Nicknames (What do they call their S/O?)
Barnacles would mostly call you by your name. When he uses nicknames, he calls you darling, dear or my love. Something simple, but cute!
O - Obvious (How obvious is it when they’re in love?)
Barnacles would be a little obvious. Enough for you to just think he’s really nice, and enough for Dashi to figure out his little crush on you. When he talks to you, he acts a little bit off. Not too much where it becomes completely obvious. He might mess up his words a little, but that’s about it. You do get a bit of special treatment though!
P - PDA (How do they feel about PDA?)
Barnacles is okay with PDA. He won’t go out of his way to do it, he’s more indifferent towards it. He would like to keep some things more private, and others he doesn’t really care. Anything above a peck on the lips he’d like to keep personal, but with holding hands, he’s fine with it!
Q - Quality Time (How do they spend quality time with their S/O?)
Barnacles wants to do anything you want to! When the two of you are still on the clock, assigning you to do something with only him is a way he likes to spend time with you if you’ve been away from each other for too long.
R - Rain (How do they spend a rainy day with their S/O?)
On rainy days, it’s not much different from any other day when you’re both in the ocean. When you’re on land however, he enjoys just sitting with you and hearing the rain outside. Whether you’re talking or not, he just enjoys your presence.
S - Service (What are some acts of service they do for you?)
Barnacles LOVES helping you with anything. Whether it’s a jar you need to be opened, you want him to get you some water or food, ANYTHING. This man just wants to be of some help. He is an Octonaut after all.
T - Try (How much effort do they put into dates?)
Barnacles will put as much effort as he can! Sometimes he might be busy with work and needs you to do most of the work, but other than that it’s about a 50/50 effort. You do some, he does some. For example, you might pick the place, and then he picks what time.
U - Unhappy (How do they cheer you up when you’re unhappy?)
Barnacles will do anything in his power to make you feel better. Whether you just need a shoulder to cry on, advice, or for him to take your mind off things, he can do it! He gives relatively good advice and is really comforting. It is also very entertaining to watch him accordion.
V - Value (How important is the relationship to them?)
VERY. Barnacles loves you with all his heart and soul. (That’s why you’re dating of course.) He takes the relationship seriously no matter how long you’ve been together. Barnacles is not the type of person to just date for nothing.
W - Wildcard (A random fluff headcanon.)
Barnacles LOVES when you show him your outfits before going out. If you ask him for advice on your outfit, he’ll immediately tell you you look amazing. It could be the worst outfit you have ever worn in your entire existence and he will think you’re the most beautiful girl ever.
X - X-Ray (How well can they read their S/O?)
Barnacles can tell when you’re acting off. He may not be able to figure out what the problem is immediately, but he knows something’s wrong. Eventually when the two of you are in private, he’ll ask you what’s wrong. If you need alone time or want to talk to him about it, he’s okay with either and just wants you to be okay.
Y - Yes (How fast do they say yes to you?)
Barnacles says yes pretty quickly. As long as it’s a reasonable and safe request, he’ll say yes.
Z - Zzz… (What is it like sleeping with them?)
Sleeping with Barnacles is like sleeping with a big fluffy teddy bear. That snores. His snoring you can eventually get used to, and his cuddles make up for it!
