Did you buy or make your Kirk shirts?

A bit of both. The green and gold are replica bases, but I had to extensively dismantle each and rebuild them to fit properly.

The first Trek-inspired item I actually made was a The Motion Picture-inspired white short sleeve top, using a Fruit of the Loom lightweight sweater and modifying the heck out of it. I also made it a bit shorter and did the belt and epaulettes in metal (my pa helped with those, I didn't have access to a workshop). Here's a pic from a few years back of it in progress. I'll do some pictures with this properly at some point.

I also scratch built a BLACK wraparound, like the green one. Here it is, also in progress. Again, I'll feature it some time.

The pants are also self-tailored/modded, but while replicas I found second hand, my biggest grief is they don't stretch. I don't know if this is accurate or not, because I have the Kirk deluxe ass and let me tell you, I can hardly bend without worrying about busting a seam...

I usually have to alter boots too. I also make therapy tribbles, and of course, I made a communicator into a working smartphone.
