i legit have been trying to figure out how this man would be like in a relationship. I’ve read his Wikipedia, seen his scenes, read other headcanons for inspiration --- so much. And for the most part, I can somewhat see what he would be like but for some reason, my mind goes empty when I try to think about him
Burns is a serious man, much like Hinawa; however, he is much more relaxed when compared to the Lieutenant of Company 8
he knows when to stop working and take a break unlike the aforementioned
however, there are moments where you have to pull him away from those piles of paperwork he has yet to finish --- like for real, the stacks just keep on coming with no end in sight like how is that even possible???
but despite this, you also know that sometimes it’s just best to let him continue to work. Strangely enough, I think he finds some peace when just signing papers (not saying he’s not at peace when with you but like yeah)
so you’ll provide him with a cup of water and a small meal as well as some small kisses in order to entice him to come to bed with you and actually rest rather than continuing to sit in that chair of his 🤭
and now that we have that part written down, let’s talk about how ya’ll started dating
in my opinion, I don’t think Burns would ever date someone in the Force. It’s too risky and messy and it literally just reminds him of all the things he’s done
so no, you are no a part of the Fire Force
instead, you’ll most likely be a civilian that he either saved or bumped into while on one of his missions or even when he just wanted to get out of the base and away from the job
another thing, I’m not saying it’s “love at first sight” type of thing but more of he just knew you were going to be special to him
and as much as he wanted to just walk away from you, he couldn’t. He physically could not step away from you without at least having known your name
he has a tendency to spoil you, mainly to apologize for the frequent absences and because he just thinks you deserve the world
PDA isn’t something he’s into surprisingly enough
he likes the hugs, the kisses on the cheeks, and the holding of hands but anything else is to remain in the privacy of your home
but that doesn’t mean that you won’t declare your love for him when in front of other Company’s
lol if you look close enough he’s blushing
oh I just thought of this
in the middle of the night, when the base is quiet and he’s still stuck doing work in his office --- you’ll sneak into the building and into the room. At first, he’ll scold you because you should be back at home in your shared bed sleeping soundly. Saying that he doesn’t want you getting sick from lack of sleep; however, you brush his scolding as if they were nothing.
seeing this, he’ll just stare at you for a few minutes. Hoping to intimidate you, even though he knows he never will, in hopes that you’d leave. And when you continue in your defiance, he’ll just let out a sigh and scoot his chair back. Giving you access to his lap, you’ll grin a joyful grin as you climb into his lap, your face facing him.
once comfortable in your new “bed”, he’ll scoot the chair back in and wrap one arm around your waist while the other holds yet another paper he has to sign. All while you’re quietly snoring into the crook of his neck
ngl there have been moments where the two of you have fallen asleep just like that and in the morning, the other members find you
they secretly take pictures of you and then send them to you bc they know how much you love shit like that
was about to publish it when I got this other idea
no one but yourselves knows about this but the two of you have an unspoken contest of who can pat the other’s head before the other falls asleep (is this worded right? it’s six am and I haven't slept in three days so my brains fuzzy lol)
like I don't even know where I got this idea but I can like totally see it
it’ll be when you’re both alone and like he’ll start caressing your head, which would cause make you start to fall asleep but then you’ll do it back and he’ll start falling asleep and so on so forth
HAHA I can totally see the “suddenly stops caressing you so you get angry about it and then calm down when they resume said action”
huh now that I think about it, Burns kind of reminds me of Nicolas Brown from Gangsta idk why lol
