Ok so I know Mayuri is objectively The Worst, but I feel like we're all overlooking the potential he has in terms of sheer absurdity.

This is a man that:

Wakes up every day and actively chooses to look Like That. It's not his natural appearance, it's literally how he genuinely wants people to see him

Decided that the best way to fight a guy who destroys organs is to get rid of your organs first

Somehow decided that "what if someone uses my artificial daughter's body to bring themself back to life somehow" was a legitimate thing he needed to worry about but never tried to understand how gargantas worked because someone he didn't like had done that already

I'm not saying ignore what he did; I'm just saying we should acknowledge that he was a very petty, extra person who picked an aesthetic and stuck with it, even if that aesthetic was "scene mime you meet in a dark alley after seriously pissing off someone with a Death Note and a lot of creativity.
