“You’re acting like a three-year-old, Ellie.” Wade said through the door. It was kind of ironic, he felt. Here he was, finally joining the school for mutants to only find that the Hero Life™ wasn’t any less stressful.

“You want to be treated like an adult, so come out and fucking act like one.” Was it condescending? Yes. Was it even a lot little mean? Yes. His nearly non-existent filter seemed to completely disappear when he was mad.

She stood and pulled the door open with as much force as she could muster, standing on her toes so that there was less of a height gap. “Yes. You’re the fucking expert on how adults act, aren’t you?” she snarled, feeling tears welling in her eyes. She would not allow herself that, there would be no tears shed over Wade Wilson. Not today or any other day.

She bit her lip and sighed softly. “Wade-” she stopped herself. “Right yeah.” Maybe she should. Maybe she took one too many hits to the head. Maybe she was truly insane. Maybe this was just a silly crush. Maybe it was real.
