“Kiss me.”

“Pardon?” killian almost choked on his coffee.

He saw Swan enter the diner and head straight towards him, expecting a hello or flirty smile... but not this rather demanding request. 

“Kiss me.” She ordered again.

“Not that I don’t want to... but is there any particular reason why?” 

“I was thinking earlier-”

“Never a good sign, love” he teased.

“Shut up.” she whacked his arm slightly with humour.  “I was thinking earlier and it hit me that you never kiss me first. You always wait for me to make the first move and I want you to know it’s okay to kiss me first. I want you to kiss me.”

Killian almost laughed at her confession, falling even more in love with her. It was true he often waited for her to make the first move, letting her set the pace of their newfound relationship, but the fact she’d noticed and wanted to fix that had his heart singing. 

He grinned before leaning forward “As you wish, darling.”

He captured her lips softly, leading them in a slow, leisurely smooch.

He pulled away slightly, eyes still closed as was hers.

“Better?”

“Much” she smiled, satisfied.

CS Fic Rec Monday: Love, Emma

It’s rare that I do a fic rec post, not because I don’t love loads of fics or think my fellow writers are amazing (YOU ARE), but just because it’s not often that you all sleep on a great fic. But. You’re sleeping on this one and you really, really shouldn’t. It’s based on the movie Love, Rosie, but even if you haven’t seen that you can still enjoy this story. It’s full of beautifully written angst and pining and misunderstandings and you’ll want to bang their heads together, but of course there is a well-earned happy ending to make it all worthwhile. 

I had the privilege of beta-ing this story and of watching Amy’s confidence in her writing grow with each chapter. She has a lovely, almost poetic writing style and a way of expressing emotions that just cuts straight to the core of the characters. Don’t miss this fic, you guys. It’s a good one.

When he comes back, nine months later, summer has begun and childhood is ending. Emma can tell something is changed in him, but she doesn't know what. Until she does. He's fallen in love with someone else.

And then, suddenly, they're kissing on her nineteenth birthday. When she asks him to forget their night out, and never talk about it again, Killian thinks she means to tell him she regrets the kiss they exchanged. Except she has no memory of it.

Dear Amy @captain-emmajones Happy birthday! You are super talented and amazing! This is little something which was on my mind for a long time, and here it is now on the paper for this wonderful occasion!

your favorite scene from i know your devils and your deeds (be prepared to bleed)? also bonus question (that you must have been asked before but i'm genuinely curious): how do you come up with your fic titles? 🥰

oh man.  i love that fic.  i really, really do.  it was originally a one-shot and i pulled the cardinal act of fic-writing hubris and decided i had more to say and more things i could envision.  🤣 but as much as each chapter came from a specific thing i wanted to see, my absolute favorite scene is in the first chapter, when emma goes to the B&B and we take a minute to see hook’s room (and life) from her eyes and she says:

“I’m sorry,” she said softly, pulling back.  “Killian, I am sorry.”

He was dazed as he looked at her, his eyes dark and his jaw tight.

“I’m sorry,” she repeated again.  “I’m sorry I make it hard, when it should be easy.”

this is...uh....really relevant as i’ve just finished a final once-over of my 3b divergence and basically...kind of...rewrote that scene?  literally, realized this right this second answering your question.  🤣😅

oops.  (also, spoiler warning?)

so for fic titles, i go straight for the usual suspects:  song lyrics and overly-pretentious quotes.  devils is from a favorite joni mitchell song; the brilliant dance is a dashboard confessional lyric; our little life (rounded with a sleep) is a shakespeare quote that is also a play on a quote from the maltese falcon; voices from the yellow road is a guster lyric; no two hearts is part of a jane austen quote.  sometimes i think i am funnier than i am (operation tulips) and for the space pirates AU series they’re all plays on dialogue from either firefly or other space-related things (cell block 1138 of course being a star wars callout because, again, sometimes i think i am much funnier than i am).

i am also emo AF in case you haven’t noticed.  😂😉 thank you so much, @captain-emmajones!  😘

Okay this is going to sound crazy but I just saw you posted a fic based on Folklore (that i’m saving for tomorrow morning) and since I’ve heard cardigan I haven’t been able not to think about your fic One Foot In and now i’m telling you because i’m sure you won’t think i’m crazy :’)) The whole « I knew you and I knew you’d come back to me » ajdjssj do you see my point? Anyway, time to listen to Taylor for the 100th time.

YASSSSSSSSSS THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. Listen, friends to lovers is my absolute favorite trope and slightly under that is the one thay got away because I just live for the "I knew you so well and you were so important to me and you're still important to me. Now let's kiss."

It is the best, as far as I'm concerned.

And there's some more of that (plus some serious dramz) coming up in One Foot In. Also, everything I've written in the last two weeks, which includes some more Cardigan-inspired original stuff anddddd hockey fic that might actually be rated E if I ever post it, has been soundtracked to Taylor. Or Hozier.

Only in the loosest possible definition of ‘can’.  Like - i know what to do with the respective needles and thread, BUT.

Can i make something which holds a shape?  Which has a shape?  Can i count loops?  Make ANYTHING that’s remotely even and worth looking at /wearing?   Because the answer to that is a resounding no.  RESOUNDING.  SO MUCH NO.  😂😂😂
