Dark brown eyes glanced out into the abyss of Hawkins forest. Funny how only five years could turn a boring small town with plentiful jobs and educational opportunities into the epicenter of death and despair. When did it all go to shit? When did it get so far out of control? Demogorgons were the first, and then the Mind Flayer, the evils of the Upside Down, and soon after criminals and serial killers who looked to capitalize on a town weak and down on their luck. His home, the beautiful sunny town he grew to love was being overthrown, being torn apart. He stood alone at the entrance of the fenced-off forest. A red bandana covering his face, goggles upon both eyes, a nailed down baseball bat on his hands, and several more daggers to act as his weaponry. He was here for a reason, to do something Hawkins Police refused to do, to get his home back. His backpack strapped along his shoulder, turned off the engine to his newly built 1980 Chevrolet Camaro before he opened the door and stepped outside of the car. Locking the door, he fixed his jacket and stepped forward, his boots clanking against the branches of the floor. Once more Harrington glanced inside.
“Let’s get our home back.” He called to no one and held a tight grip on his backpack before he reached over to grab hold of the pliers that were in his backpack, meant to make an opening in the fence. Climbing over it no longer an option because of the barbed wire at the top. Once he managed a hole big enough, Steve stepped through it only to stand up at the other side with his determination as clear as ever. No one knew he was here, and that was probably for the better. The Scooby Kids, Hopper, Joyce, Nancy...if either of them knew he was here they would have either tried to stop him or tried to join him and he’d be damned if he didn’t see this through without any more blood spilled because of him. He was focused, he was determined, even if the shadows had a knack for hiding the dangers that truly lurked in them. Deep down he was scared shitless, but Steve Harrington carried on, pressing step for step into the dark forest. There were evils lurking, and he was ready to face them because if Steve Harrington didn’t then who would?
