Hey! Who's your favourite character in SAO?
My favorite SAO character is Sinon! I like most SAO protagonists, but Sinon just hits a specific chord with me.
There are many things I love about her: her backstory was probably one of the most interesting and well-handled in the series to me, she shows great mental fortitude and emotional progress throughout GGO, and I personally enjoy how her story wasn’t heavily focused on romance. I really like how she and Kirito help each other grow through Phantom Bullet too.
I think the aspect of her development that always caught my attention the most is actually something that might seem minor - she goes from being legitimately distrustful of others due to parental neglection and harsh bullying to a girl able to accept other people’s affection and friendship. It’s more clear in the novels, but the way she learns to trust Shinkawa by the end (even if that didn’t work out so well) and Kirito is amazing to me. As someone who struggled with serious trust issues during my teenage years, I can say I can relate quite a lot with that angle of her story.
