Aw, with those big eyes :( Yeah that’s not cool. Well they are Germans and in shock so I am not surprised that they apologized. We have seen ugliness directed towards the non white players, that’s scary

I saw a video clip of a skit from some German comedy program (maybe a late night show, I am not certain) where they had actors playing Jogi and Mesut, and “Mesut” had what looked like large white buttons over his eyes.  I can’t find it now, but I don’t need to see it again to know it was low key racist.  They may not have explicitly stated “lets make fun of Turkish people” but they mocked the physical appearance of an ethnic minority.  If “making slanty eyes” is racist,  don’t see how this is not racist.

LOL, you would say that, but sad Mesut is very sad.  

And all of the apologising is annoying because it validates people who feel like they are personally owed something by the players (which they are not).

Me too! The Tanssi and Taika collections are my favorite and I’ve been collecting both for a few years now. My big wish is that Iittala makes duvet covers with both prints at some point. I would buy them no matter what the price.

excuse you, we had the same a week ago. so please step aside, I'm already on my 5th layer of clothing.

Me too :D Winter is my absolute favorite time of the year, but the arrival of the cold in October/November always takes a little getting used to.

At one point "spökåldern" kicks in and they act odd and will get scared about all sorts of things. Ignore her when she's scared to show there's nothing to be scared of

Ah, will do! Heh my mom got all paranoid because she started doing that while my mom was home alone tonight. I guess she could be hearing the mice that run inside the roof or some sound from outdoors that our ears can’t detect. And she’s sometimes scared of a gust of wind so I’m not surprised if some random noise scares her :P
