FLINT.
It was an odd thing to feel like one was hearing THEMSELVES speak while almost being unaware of how they’ve picked the spoken words at all. Although she had a rather unstable temper, she was always proud of her ability to pick her words CAREFULLY, thank you very much. That was the very reason why the Order relied on her to be sneaky in the most uncomfortable of situations. But all that caution had apparently disappeared when she wasn’t looking, she noted, as her own words rang back to her — in a voice that was decidedly COLDER and CRUELER than her usual manner of speech.
“When they told me that I would need a Hit Wizard accompanying me, I hadn’t realised it would be you, Flint.” She sent him a look full of distrust. There was a time, back in school, when the older Slytherin boy had INTIMIDATED her enough for her to steer clear of him. But they weren’t school children anymore, so she made no effort to hide her sneer. “Didn’t you have to repeat your seventh year? Who in their right mind decided you were a GIFTED wizard worthy of protecting a Ministry official?” She also had CONCERNS about his willingness to protect her, but she didn’t point it out. She didn’t need to — as it was quite obvious even when it went unspoken.
