yeah i was able to return 2 of the books i bought through the uni and the other one i got online so theyre gonna give me like 50$ back for it (i think thats what i paid anyway)

Well that's good at least! I've heard of an atrocious policy at our campus bookstore here where they'll only allow for full refunds/returns during like the weeks of adding/dropping classes before they either won't give you money back for them or refuse to take them back

I only know of this because one of my classes this semester ordered the wrong book and people bought it and the real edition needed won't be in until next month so the bookstore is extending the period to make returns for the actual text for people who bought the wrong one

But still - twice?! That's an incredible mistake to make. Like, wow - that's a kind of screw up that someone could lose their job over if enough people complained!
