This was silly.
Wasn’t it?
Eddie rolled his eyes at his indecision, quickly clicking the ‘add to cart’ button before he could change his mind. He didn’t even have to buy the items, they could just sit there and stew before he eventually changed his mind once again. For the thousandth time.
It was just a cape. At first. He already had the bow, the quiver and arrows, all the belts and equipment to hold everything together from the Renn Faire he took Dustin to in high school.
Eddie and Dustin went way back, the boy just a freshman when Eddie sort of took him under his wing. Mainly he saw how the kid and his other friends were being roasted and thought they needed some guidance. ‘Cause a Weird Al’ shirt- first day of school? Begging for trouble. They bonded quickly over their mutual love of all things D&D, and Tolkien.
Which is what led him to the present, scrolling through Amazon to cobble together pieces for…
A cosplay. Jesus tap-dancing Christ.
He roughly scrubbed his hands over his face, he was over-thinking this. Thousands of people dressed up as characters they enjoyed every single day, this was just like doing a play, except in the safety of your own home. Sure, people could say some shitty things of course but he also had the ability to block and delete. Truly, if he had a problem with what people had to say about him he would have never survived high school, or Hawkins.
Seemed a lifetime ago- a whole other person ago.
Eddie sighed, it was time to get over all of that, how long had it been anyway? Shaking his head he closed out of the browser and looked down at his notes. It wouldn’t take long at all to set up and get ready for filming, leaving him a few hours to really give it his full attention before bedtime.
“Mommy?”
Eddie turned, his furrowed brow smoothing at the sight of his six year old daughter, “Yeah baby. Are you ready to help me make dinner?”
