Whumpee stands tall in front of Whumper’s cell, steeling their nerves. “You can’t hurt me anymore, Whumper. You can’t hurt me or anyone ever again.”
Whumper laughs. “You’ll never be safe from me,” they sneer, “even when I die, I will still plague your nightmares. You will never have a peaceful rest again.”
Whumpee takes a deep breath “I’ve moved on. You don’t control me anymore.”
Whumper suddenly grabs the bars, causing Whumpee to flinch back. “No matter what you do or where you go, you can’t escape me. Every time you look in the mirror, you’ll see the first scar I carefully carved into you when you talked back to me. Every time you get a headache you’ll think of how I beat you over the head with that lead pipe after your first escape attempted. Every time it’s chilly, you’ll remember how, when I was done with you, I left you in the snow to die alone. When you look at your friends you’ll only see pity in their eyes because of what I made you.”
Whumpee turns around, fists shaking. “You didn’t make me anything.” They walk away, not letting Whumper see the fresh tears slide down their face.
You can probably tell I was excited to write this since it’s out already.

CW: chained, interrogation, baseball bat
-
Ice cold water jolted Charlie awake. His head screamed at him when he sat up too fast. He groaned and opened his eyes. Standing in front of him was someone he’d never seen before. The man held an empty bucket and snickered. Charlie’s arms were chained to the wall, and his legs to the floor. Little movement was possible.
“Who are you? CIA? MI6?” Charlie questioned.
Speaking made his head throb more.
“Close, but no. You aren’t important enough for them to send their own agents after you,” the man replied.
“Then you’re a mercenary, or a contractor.”
“Sure. Look, let’s just say someone paid us to eliminate you and your friends.”
Charlie could tell that his lack of a reaction confused him. He shivered as the freezing water dripped from his hair and onto his body.
“Then why am I alive?” Charlie asked.
“They didn’t say we couldn’t have a little fun first. Plus, we need information from you. Where are they?”
“Who?”
The man threw the bucket at him. Charlie barely flinched.
“Apollo, come here,” a voice called from outside the room.
The man, apparently named Apollo, left. Charlie took a chance to look at his surroundings. The room reminded him of a garage, mainly due to the workbench and toolbox in the corner. The floor consisted of black tile instead of concrete. There was a tiny window near the ceiling, not large enough to fit through. Apollo reentered the room holding a small metal baseball bat.
“So, where were we? Oh, yeah. Let’s start with Jacobs. Where is he? You were at his house, after all,” he spoke.
“I don’t know,” Charlie replied.
Apollo raised the bat.
“Hey, hey! I’m telling the truth! I don’t know! I woke up and he wasn’t there.”
“Alright, then how about Rowe and Akimoto?”
“I haven’t seen them in over a week, since they left the base in Nevada. And, before you ask, I have the same answer for Deke.”
Charlie wasn’t completely lying. He only saw Crow briefly the day before. Apollo swung the bat around in his hand as he decided whether or not believe Charlie.
“Deke is Rex Quinn, right?”
“Yes.”
“He’s already been taken care of by someone else.”Charlie felt like he had been kicked in the stomach. This time, it was hard to hide his reaction. Apollo laughed. Charlie lunged forward, but was quickly stopped by the chains.
“You motherfucker,” he hissed.
“Hey, I didn’t do it,” Apollo said.
Someone then walked into the room, holding a laptop.
“Hey,” he said. It was the same voice from earlier.
“What the fuck do you want now, Oscar?” Apollo snapped as he turned around.
Oscar showed him the laptop, and Apollo clasped his hands together. He gave Oscar a high-five, and they both grinned.
“Go get the car ready. I’ll be out in a second,” Apollo said.
He swung the bat at Charlie’s hitting him directly in the ribs. Charlie cried out and fell over in pain. Apollo left the room, leaving the bat leaning against the wall. Once the pain subsided enough, Charlie palpated his chest. His ribs weren’t broken, but they were definitely bruised. The only light coming into the room now was from the small window. It appeared to be around sunset. It would be pitch black in there soon enough.
Charlie inspected the cuffs around his limbs. They were solid metal, and the locking mechanism was strange. He tried pulling on the chains to see if they’d detach from the wall with no luck. He then lied down and tried to think of a plan. Deke kept popping into his mind. Charlie told himself that Apollo was just lying to him to mess with his head. He didn’t present him with any proof, after all. Whatever they had injected into him before was still weighing on his system. He was exhausted, but his eyes were wide open. He had to be on his guard. These people were new. They couldn’t be predicted like Mallory or his guards.
Where was Mallory, anyway? It was rare for him to leave Charlie alone. Something must’ve gone down at the base. Even then, he’d usually drag Charlie along with him. Maybe he finally trusted him enough. Maybe he knew Charlie wouldn’t run now. Charlie then questioned himself. If he had the chance to get free, why wouldn’t he run? If Mallory said, “hey, you can go now,” …would he? He didn’t know. He thought about how Mallory reacted to him not being there when he returned home. He wondered how things seemed to change so quickly, so drastically.
A dog barking broke him out of his thoughts. It came from the other side of the door. It was a deep, loud bark, which made him think it was probably a big dog. He hoped it wasn’t trained to attack. Then, he heard a voice.
“Martha, nyet.”
Charlie found that interesting. It was definitely the voice of a Russian or Ukrainian man. He wasn’t sure. There was silence again after that. As he feared, the room became almost pitch black once the sun went away. He’d grown to hate the dark.
Sometime later, he heard a few voices grow nearer. He poked his head up toward the door as it opened. There were two silhouettes. They were carrying someone. The chains rattled as Charlie stood up. He squinted as they entered the room. Then, the lights came on. It was Mallory.
They threw him down a few feet away and started attaching restraints to him.
“Hey, don’t be so fucking rough,” Charlie snapped.
Apollo walked over and punched him in the jaw.
“Sit down and shut up,” he spat.
Charlie tried to hit back, but was once again stopped by the chains. Apollo shoved him into the ground and went back to help Oscar. Once they were done, they both left the room.
“Mal.”
He didn’t respond.
“Mallory.”
Charlie leaned his head back against the wall. Seeing him all disheveled bothered him more than it should have. He wished he could reach him, but the chains wouldn’t allow it. Oscar returned to double check Mallory’s restraints.
“Hey,” Charlie said, “I gotta pee.”
“Not my problem,” Oscar responded.
“Listen, fuckface. If you’re going to torture and kill us, fine, but at least let me have some fucking dignity,” Charlie snapped.
Oscar sighed.
“Fine. Whatever, but if you try anything-“
“I know the goddamn drill.”
Oscar undid the chains and attached them together to make handcuffs. He escorted Charlie out the door and across the hall to the bathroom. He stood at the door.
“You really have to watch me?” Charlie griped.
“I’m not watching,” Oscar replied.
Charlie finished up and was taken back to the room. Oscar attached him back to the wall before leaving. As he opened the door, a giant ball of white fur came running in.
“Dammit, Martha! Artyom, come get your fucking dog!” Oscar yelled.
Martha ran right up to Charlie and started sniffing him. Then, someone, presumably Artyom, came to grab her. He seemed incredibly flustered.
“She’s cute,” Charlie said.
“Thank you. She is husky dog,” Artyom replied.
He took her away and Oscar followed. Charlie was alone again with unconscious Mallory.
Hi! I’ve never really asked stuff before so I hope you are having a good day! So uh, what do you think of like a villain/whumper having to be taken in by whumpee/caretaker/hero or their team?
Hi, Anon! I'm having a great day and I hope you are too! This got a bit long, but I hope you enjoy!
Whumpee stormed in the room, looking at their team. "What's wrong? What's the emergency?"
The team leader stood up. "Hey, Whumpee, it's, uh, it's about Whumper."
Whumpee froze. "Whumper? As in the villain, Whumper? What did they do this time? Is everyone okay?"
Their leader nodded. "Yeah, everyone's fine. It's just- we captured them. Whumper's currently in our holding cell."
Whumpee's mouth dropped open and they stared for a moment before shaking their head slightly. "Can I- uh, can I see them?"
The leader hesitated. "I mean, sure. But be careful. And don't let them get into your head." But Whumpee was already running down the hall.
They pulled up short in front of the brightly lit cell, their eyes peering through the bars to find the hunched up figure in the back corner.
At the sound of their footsteps, Whumper lifted their head and, spotting Whumpee, grinned and stood up, walking the short length of the cell to stand in front of them.
Whumpee watched them, tense, as Whumper wrapped a slow hand around one of the metal bars. Whumpee could almost feel their hand around their throat, twisting and squeezing.
Whumper smirked, as if they could tell what this was doing to them. "Hello, Whumpee," they said in a low voice. "Come to gloat?"
Whumpee stared back at them, eyes wide and already frantic. "No. No, I, um, I came to see if what, if what people were saying was true. That we finally caught you."
"'We'?" Whumper said mockingly. "From what I've heard, you haven't seen much field work lately, have you? Too broken, hm?"
Whumpee went to take a stumbling step back, but Whumper struck quick. They grabbed their wrist through the bars and pulled Whumpee towards them. Whumpee hit the bars with a soft gasp, and then Whumper's hand was circling back around their throat, as if it had never left.
"Oh, Whumpee," they said sadly. "If only you had never left me. Then I wouldn't have had to come all the way here to get you back."
eeee prompts you say? i shall give: “one of these days, you’ll understand why i had to do it.”
Even though Whumper was behind the bars of the cell, locked up right with nowhere to go, Whumpee still found themself afraid to approach, afraid to get close enough to be seen.
But soon Whumper looks up and grins wickedly. “Finally come back to me, hmm? I always knew you would.”
“No,” the guard says. “They’re here to say goodbye.”
Whumper looks at the guard with annoyance and anger in their eyes. “I wasn’t speaking to you, was I?”
They turn back to face Whumpee, who still hasn’t spoken. The fear in their eyes is apparent, and Whumper can’t look away. “So? I didn’t hear a goodbye yet.”
Silence. Whumper grins. “Hmm? Cat got your tongue?” They grin, staring their old pet down in just the right way to make them petrified. “Oh that’s right, I forgot that I cut your tongue out.”
The guard stiffens, and Whumpee looks scared, but not as scared as Whumper wanted. “Oh come on, pet. I only did what I thought was best for you, what was best for us.”
Pumping words out to guilt them, Whumper was having the time of their life, despite being behind bars. “One of these days, you’ll understand why I did it. You’ll understand, and then you’ll come right back to me, just like I know you will.”
Whumpee shakes their head side to side, desperate to get a message across.
“No?” Whumper posed. “Well then, I guess you just haven’t realized yet.”
The guard, obviously uncomfortable, started to guide Whumpee away. “It’s time to go.”
Whumper smiles and waves. “You know where to find me,” they say as their goodbye. They watch as Whumpee limps away, and grins to themself. They never expected that being captured was going to be this much fun.

Ethan knocked on the door gently. Charlie hadn't managed to fall asleep, and watched Sasha sleep instead. He told Ethan to come in.
"I just want to check you out," Ethan said.
"I figured," Charlie replied. He gently moved Sasha off of him and sat up. Ethan set his bag on the ground and pulled out a tiny flashlight. First, he checked Charlie's pupils, then the rest of his vitals. He cleaned and covered what wounds needed it, then gave Charlie two ibuprofen.
"I'm worried about this thing on your neck. It looks really tight. Do you know how to take it off?" He asked.
"He used an app on his phone," Charlie said after swallowing the pills.
"Shit. They left his phone there so we wouldn't be tracked. I'd say we could try some bolt cutters, but they wouldn't fit. Let's see if they have any ideas."
Charlie followed Ethan out of his room. Deke was passed out on the couch, and Adrian was on his phone at the dining table.
"Hey, any idea how we could get this thing off of his neck?" Ethan asked.
"Angle grinder?" Adrian suggested.
"Hell no," Charlie said, "you're not putting an angle grinder anywhere near my neck."
"Well, do you have any other ideas?"
"I can just deal with it for now."
Crow slammed through the back door, and it startled Deke enough to make him fall off the couch.
"Command won't talk to me. I don't understand what's going on," Crow said.
"Seriously? Do they not care that we have this psychopath?" Adrian asked.
"Apparently not. It's like we don't even exist. I don't know what the fuck to do," Crow sighed, taking at seat at the table.
"We can't just keep him in the basement," Ethan said.
"No shite. What do we do, then? Kill him?" Adrian asked.
"Wish we could," Crow mumbled.
Charlie sat next to Deke, who was just recovering from his rude awakening.
“We could just make use of him while he’s here. Get some intel. Maybe that’ll make command like us again,” Deke suggested.
“Might as well,” Crow said.
He and Adrian stood, and Charlie felt a knot in his stomach. Something about the sudden change in energy startled him. He followed them into the basement, where Mallory was sitting, handcuffed to a pipe.
“Ah, you’ve returned with my darling Charlie. How are you, love?” he said. Crow kicked him in the shin, and he grimaced.
“Shut the fuck up. Don’t talk to him,” Crow growled.
“Right. What do you want?” He asked, that all too familiar smirk on his lips.
Ethan had trailed them into the basement, and startled everyone when he spoke.
“How do we get this thing off of his neck?” He asked from the stairs. Mallory began to laugh.
“You mean his collar? You don’t. Not without the app, at least.”
“Then what’s the app called?” Adrian questioned.
“You have to get it from the dark web. I don’t know the link.”
“Of course you don’t,” Crow sighed.
Deke was now behind Ethan on the stairs. The entire house, except for Sasha, was now in the basement. Charlie leaned against the back wall and watched Crow and Adrian frustratedly try to figure out what to do.
“What’s the problem? General Baker not talking to ya?” Mallory teased.
“How the hell do you know her name?” Adrian questioned.
“It’s a secret.”
Crow backhanded him. He just laughed.
“Good one. Do it again,” Mallory said.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?!” Adrian yelled.
“Lots of things, I’ve been told. Hey, I’ve got an idea. Why don’t you all fuck off back upstairs? Except Charlie, of course.”
Crow picked up a knife from a nearby table, and held it to his throat.
“Do it,” Mallory dared, “You won’t.”
Crow pressed it harder, before throwing it across the room, almost hitting Ethan on the bottom of the steps.
“Weak,” Mallory said.
“Shut up!” Adrian yelled as he smacked him.
Deke and Ethan retreated to the safety of upstairs, not wishing for more knives to be flung in their direction.
“How do you know General Baker’s name?” Charlie asked.
“Guess telling you the truth wouldn’t hurt. The question is, will you believe me?”
“Talk,” Crow said.
“Your governments are my partners. They only sent you in to cover their own asses,” Mallory said.
“Bullshit,” Charlie said.
“Why am I telling you this if you’re not going to believe me?”
“Charlie, stop. Continue,” Crow said.
“It’s why you were caught in the first place. I knew you were coming. I had a warning. They were sending you in just in case I did something to expose them, that way it looked like they were trying to stop me. I was supposed to kill you, you know. In fact, by now, I’d guess that they’re sending someone to put a bullet in the back of your heads only to rule your deaths a suicide. You’re disposable to them.”
The room was silent. Crow rubbed his face and took a deep breath, sighing it out.
“Don’t believe you,” he said.
“That’s fine. It’s not my life that’s possibly in danger,” Mallory replied.
“Don’t be too sure about that,” Crow hissed.
He motioned for Charlie and Adrian to follow him up the stairs. He slammed the door shut.
“Do you think what he said holds some weight?” Adrian asked.
“I don’t know. If they are involved with him, it would explain where his funding comes from. I don’t think his dad’s money alone could fund that operation,” Charlie said.
“We can’t entertain the idea,” Crow spoke.
The conversation stopped there, and everyone split off in their separate ways. Charlie went into his room and fed Sasha, before collapsing on his bed to wait for dinner.
/
The rest of the night was uneventful. Dinner was fairly normal, but tense as Crow banned any talk of the current situation. Charlie went to bed after washing the dishes.
Later, Charlie woke in the middle of the night from a nightmare. He went into the kitchen to grab a glass of water, and noticed a half empty bottle of gin on the counter. Then, he saw that the basement door was open a crack. He snuck inside, and listened from the stairs.
He could hear the sound of metal straining against metal, and some kind of scuffle occurring. He crept down a few more steps to find Crow with his hands wrapped around Mallory’s neck.
“What are you doing?!” Charlie exclaimed.
Crow released his grip and turned to him with bloodshot eyes. Mallory gasped for air, but gained a smile after a few seconds.
“Why are you here?” Crow slurred.
“I asked you first.”
“Go back to bed,” Crow said, turning around again.
Charlie stepped off the stairs and met Crow at his side.
“You’re drunk. You go to bed,” he said.
“Not until he’s dealt with,” Crow mumbled.
“No,” Charlie protested.
“You’re defending him,” Crow stated, rather than questioned.
Charlie sighed and grabbed his arm, trying to pull him toward the steps. He dug his heels into the ground to prevent himself from being moved.
“You’re defending him,” Crow repeated.
“You’re not in your right mind,” Charlie said.
“You came down here just to snog him again, didn’t you?”
Charlie let go of his arm and stared at him. Mallory laughed.
“What are you talking about?” He asked quietly.
“The video,” Crow said. Nausea hit Charlie like a train, and he stumbled backwards slightly.
“Crow, that-“
“Don’t wanna hear it,” he mumbled, “fuck off.”
Mallory watched the argument with great joy, tapping his toes together like a child. Charlie glared at him until Crow took off, stumbling up the stairs. Charlie followed him up and into his room, where he had to stop him from slamming the door in his face.
“Crow, please just let me explain,” Charlie said.
“Unless you’re going to tell me that it was against your will, I don’t want to hear it,” Crow said, taking off his jacket and throwing it at the closet door.
Charlie stood silently. His hands began to sweat.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought,” Crow mumbled.
Charlie grabbed his arm, and Crow shoved him back, hard enough to make him fall. He ripped the bandage off of his arm, revealing the cut that Mallory had forced him to give himself. They locked eyes. Charlie knew what he was conveying.
“What’s going on?” Adrian asked from the door.
Charlie got up and pushed past him. He slammed his door and crawled into bed, sobbing into the sheets.
