Recaptured? That doesn't seem particularly likely.

Don't get me wrong. She’s been captured by before, quite a number of times. There was that one time at Chateau Haine, another that time with Ellis the Blade, the time with that nobleman... du Gaudet, I think his name was, and probably one or two I'm forgetting. But each time she's come away from it, the one who did the capturing tends to end up dead. The only one I can think of who didn't end up sent to the void was du Gaudet, but he wasn't in any state to do much more than drool. I'll finish his story in the future sometime... I know some folks have been absolutely dying to see how the story ends.

That said, what would I do if she was recaptured? Probably the same thing I do whenever she gets captured the first time, and the same thing that she does when I've been captured, or when any of our other friends have been abducted. We gather the others, put together a plan, and then go stage a rescue. If it's a recapture, it must mean we've dealt with the bilge rat before, and that means we'll have something to start with... and that's always better than nothing. In the rather awful circumstance that she passes away... well, whoever it is who perpetrated the crime would die slowly. Painfully. In ways that I'm not sure have been invented yet... perhaps involving a spoon. And then I'd grieve...

But let's not talk about that any more than we have to. I've got some strong, powerful friends, and they all owe Hawke their lives, their fortunes, or both. I've got a few favors I can call in, chips I'm owed by others that I can demand repayment of. But you'd better believe that even if I had none of these things available to me, I'd still make the bastard who dared to take Hawke from me pay. Because I'm the one who recaptured her myself after I returned, and I'll be damned to the Void myself if something happens to her under my watch. She's mine, and it would take far too long to train an adequate replacement.
