A day in Manuel Antonio, with many monkeys, bugs and butterflies, a huge ass lizard that fell out of a branch right next to me, and a few sloths hidden in the branches. Gorgeous beaches, especially the northern one, it was quite quiet compared to the others. 

I’ve never sweat so much in my life. It is so humid here in the rainforest. My desert body is in shock! 

I got talked into buying a local tour guide for a few hours... he was very knowledgable and pointed out a lot of wildlife and gave us information about each of them. I paid 20 US dollars to have him for 2 hours with 5 other people. I enjoyed the guide very much, but one of the tourists was a buggar-- acted annoyed and complained a few times. 

It’s definitely not necessary to buy a guide here. Unless you’d like to see and hear about the bugs and small creatures in the forest (bats, caterpillars, lizards). The large animals will be easy to find with groups of people pointing and discussing the animal in the middle of the path. However, if you do not have binoculars, all of the guides carry a huge telescope and let you get a closer look! Good for sloth viewing. 

And I ended up being glad I brought my DSLR ;)
