Four passengers hurt after upper deck collapses on Isle of Wight car ferry
Four people have been taken to hospital after the upper deck of a car ferry collapsed on the Isle of Wight. Paramedics, police, fire crews and the coastguard were called to the incident at the Fishbourne terminal at around 10.30pm on Friday. An Isle of Wight Ambulance Service spokesman said the movable upper mezzanine deck of a Wightlink Ferry collapsed on to cars beneath it.
We are not aware of the nature of the injuries. It is very fortunate that it was only four people injured, all things considered.
Isle of Wight Ambulance Service spokesman
The ambulance spokesman said: "Four patients required ambulance treatment for a variety of injuries, none of which are believed to be life threatening. All are conscious and breathing." Wightlink ferries said a full investigation into the incident is now under way.
Had my car broken into last night.. Only thing they got was the $150 deck... Glad I didn't have anything else in the car.. Planning ahead is key.. Also, where you park is key as well... I wasn't as smart last night for some reason.. lol. .Next time.. Well. hopefully there won't be a next time..
