Here’s another great opportunity to get into an Undiscovered Classic with some real provenance. This 1954 Woodill Wildfire is currently for sale on @bringatrailer and the auction ends in 4 days! This 1954 Woodill Wildfire is a running project that is said to have been constructed for company founder B.R. Woodill and driven by actress Dorothy Malone in the 1956 film Written on the Wind. It was reportedly placed in storage until 1965 and remained registered in California through 1979. The car is finished in black with red side stripes over red leather upholstery, and power comes from a Mercury-sourced 255ci flathead V8 paired with an automatic transmission. Features include a Fenton intake manifold and aluminum cylinder heads as well as a Mallory dual-point distributor, 15″ wire wheels, a Continental kit, plexiglass wind wings, and Talbot-style mirrors. The car was reportedly purchased by the selling dealer in October 2021 at the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival in Tennessee, and it will require service prior to regular use.
