A Little Something I’m working on
I get random bursts of inspiration for random chapters and here’s one right now. It’s unedited so don’t be too harsh but I just love the dynamics I’m building with these two.
=Be gentle guys.
A loud chap comes against the door and disturbs Iris out of her thoughts. She turns herself away from the demon beside her, thankful for this break away from their discussion. With a small breath in Iris reaches and opens the door of her house only to see a priest standing their with a bible pressed against his chest. Suddenly Iris felt tongue tired and she was very unsure of how to respond. She had a spawn of Satan inside her house and a man of the lord on her front door. Could she be in any more of an awkward situation. “I'm here today to discuss about our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ and his Holy father” the priest spoke with such a clear voice and he sounded happy. His white collar under his black shirt looked well pressed and the small dimples on his checks showed he was pleased to be doing what he was doing. Apparently it could get a lot worse. Why would a random pastor decide this was the day to stop at her house? Iris knew she hadn't spoke and she must have looked so stupid sitting with a door in her hand just staring at the man on front of her. She felt the door tug against her hand and Calcifer stepped in front of her blocking her view of the man. He looked cynical for a moment. “I'm sorry. I bet you too it. I'm already discussing our lord and torturous, Lucifer with her and I think I have been persuasive enough to have her join our cult” Calcifer said everything with such a straight face even Iris couldn't believe what he was saying. A smile twitched on his lips at the look on the priest's face. He looked shocked. He started up at Calcifer deciding if he was actually being serious. “...I…..m…...Sorry…...what?” he stuttered slightly as he began to shift from one foot to the other. He looked like he wanted to run away and in all honesty, Iris wanted to get as far away from this situation as possible as well. But that wasn't going to happen. “Sorry pal, maybe next time. Do pop back though maybe I can persuade you to join as well. It's been lovely having this chat but I believe we were in the middle of a very heated conversation.” Calcifer swung himself around before the priest had a chance to respond, he shut the door in his face and left the poor man confused after him. Iris looked up at Calcifer blankly for a moment before she was able to respond. “What was that for?” she asked rather bleakly. “It's always fun to mess with a bible basher” his shoulders shrugged lightly before he moved past her and further into her house. Iris was left staring at the back of her door. She was sure the priest was either still confused at the other side or he had bolted away as soon as he could. She wasn't sure which sounded more appealing to him.
