Decided to do some tarot during my cleansing meditation. The Wheel of Fortune. How fitting this card is today, it’s Election Day after all.
Mimosa. Art by Chelsea Granger, from Dirt Gems.
Albizia julibrissin The Polisher of Radiance Mimosa the glorious! Effortlessly showy, radiating both buoyancy and care, Mimosa is the bright light and twinkling confidant you have been waiting for. Mimosa's gifts are those of duality and nuance. For those who feel sunken low in their hearts, dark under the eyes, slow, and struggling for that spark that drives them forward, Mimosa has the feathery swing of a mountain breeze. The fabulous firecracker of the Mimosa flowers moves upward, dancing in the wind, sparkling in your depths. Mimosa will twinkle in the caves of despair, acting as the gliding kite for your wallowing spirit as you follow their irresistible glow. Sometimes, however, when our energy trends toward restlessness or a spiritual hunger, we search for something to lift and float us out of where we are. We reach upward and become untethered. Mimosa flowers enhance and clear the way for the intelligence of your heart, opening your chest and reaching your arms toward the sky, while their trunk and bark hold you steadily to the ground. This is the mountain you set your feet upon as you look out over the world. You can explore the ecstatic, and you will not float away or lose sight of what you need. Mimosa creates the stability for your dreams to become realized with- out inhibiting the spontaneity and freedom of your imagination. Mimosa is a grounded and bright friend-the dependable, stalwart mountain and the breeze dancing on its edges.

#10: FREEDOM Sign: Sagittarius & Capricorn Gift: Expression Shadow: Self-Obsession
Gift: Expression This gift is found once you've become exhausted with your preoccupation with self. Due to our programming, we're told for years and years (and via multiple channels) that we're supposed to be a certain way in order to be accepted; this drives us into a perpetual pattern of equating our self- worth with conditions and qualities that do not actually align with us on a fundamental level. We must u n d o all of that conditioning before we can get to the core essence of ourselves. Through this center, a new being emerges. You are no longer a label, or a multitude of labels, but something far greater and more expansive. When this new world of possibility opens for you, you are finally granted the opportunity to be yourself, and not just a cookie-cutter-human shaped by society at large. Freedom of expression is yours for the taking. You are boundless.
Shadow: Self-Obsession When engulfed by this shadow, you are not able to see outside of yourself. In contrast to being lost in the herd, self-obsession drives away the collective in an effort to have a clear, differentiated identity. There is nothing wrong with wanting to search for who you really are; in fact, the next stage in our evolution requires it. When we attempt to merely mirror the herd, we give up part (or all) of ourselves in order to “fit in" (a survival technique). It is when we each delve into our unique Truth that we are better able to serve the collective. Thus, individualism actually strengthens the whole. The shadow creeps in when we are too centered on the self, too concerned with being interesting or original or different, too removed. When repressed, this shadow is self-denying, which means that you might discard yourself entirely in an effort to combat the lower frequencies of this shadow. On the reactive side of this shadow is narcissism, which is likely to wage war on your relationships.
Themes: expression + self-worth + boundlessness + freedom
