okay okay okay some thoughts before i go to bed:

i LOVED that ending. i know this is an Unpopular Opinion, but i don’t really ship cardinal and delorme. i think they’re a cute couple and they obviously care about each other very deeply, but i also think the 2 main characters getting together is boring and cliche. i predicted it right from the very first episode and was so fucking relieved to find out they both had significant others (josh can fuck off but i’m still very sad about catherine).

as an ending, it was very in character for both of them. cardinal was never going to drop everything and leave algonquin bay to follow her to toronto, and delorme was never going to pass up on a job opportunity for a man.

the show chose the most fulfilling endings for both characters individually, rather than trying to shoehorn in a romantic ending, and i for one am very grateful for that.

i think the show made it clear that they do love each other and that they would stay in touch and be a big part of each other’s lives.

Edit: And then a few minutes later, Michelle Monaghan liked a tweet I wrote about the newest episode of The Path because it was so good and she was exceptionally good in it. I did not realize that actors, musician, writers, etc. actually interact with fans this much on Twitter. I’ve barely been on it a week.
