I found an old notebook of math art I did based on Vihart's videos:
Lots of stars
manually drawn cardioids and a surprisingly good apollonian gasket
and a trio of panels based off stained glass imagery

I LOVE MY GIRLFRIEND ! ! A AA GGHHGG 💥💥‼️💥‼️<3<3
GOD i am so lucky. it's crazy what being in a loving fulfilled happy relationship with someone who loves and supports you unconditionally. Someone who has no ulterior motives or manipulative habits. Someone who's safe and strives to remind you they are. Her love is so pure so earnest so grounded, her views and perspectives have been shapen through her own resolve to grow. I aspire to be like her in so many ways, i admire her deeply. So often i catch myself wide eyed caught by her gaze, there is so much to see behind her eyes and it all leaves me starstruck. After repeated cases of love and bond being used against me it's drilled such fear and trauma, but when i say i love her it feels effortless. I'm dealing with the tail end of a sexually abusive toxic manipulative dependant 6year ex and as i look inward to all the cracks that relationship left in me somehow none reach what love i now have. She exists at a time i could not think possible. She's woven through these walls and held me so tender. I can cry without abandonment, i can enjoy without shame, i can exist without expectation. I want nothing more than to share with her this same confident love.
i have worn her silly cat themed hairband round my wrist every day since we got together, this photo in specific was on our ride from the airport to the apartment we'd moved in together cross country. She's been with me through a very deep major depression that's lasted near just as long as we have, but that hasnt stopped us from smiling every time we lock eyes. through eachother we've grown so far. i see so much in her and it's been so incredible watching the steps she's taken within herself. i love to celebrate her, she is so deeply cherished so adored so a hjiu ugh. awa .w she has so much DRIVE and AMBITION and SPARk and Soul and gagagwa i love her ;; i lovee her ;;,,<3:;<3;
She saw me off on a walk the other day. in my past relationship i wasnt allowed walks. It's such a small thing. but it means so much. Every small thing does. this is love.
Three views of a cardioid
An epicycloid, the envelope of circles, the envelope of lines.
Dave Richeson on Twitter.
How to draw a cardioid
Step 1: Draw x, equally spaced, points in a circle. You can find the angle by dividing 360 by x (in this case 360/30 = 12°). Assign a number to each point (starting from 0)
Step 2: For each point, draw a line to point №(point number*2). If you reach a number that is too high (for example 15, 15*2=30), then just subtract the number of points (30-30=0). This is a simplified version of the modulo operator.
You're done! The cardioid is the bean shape on the top. You can get more detail with more points
For anyone wondering, these animations were made in Pygame and recorded using pygame_screen_recorder.
