Out working in the shop this morning, trying to put all them carbs and calories from yesterday to good use. I can hear my neighbor, which is a good 1/8th of a mile away, planing down some lumber with his portable planer. I know exactly what he is doing, the sound is unmistakable. However, he has no clue I've been working since 7:30 this morning planing and scraping the top of this table and putting chamfers on all four edges top and bottom. I really appreciate the fact I can use my hand tools and not have to hear the roar of machines all the time. Plus, look at those curly shavings from that Stanley No. 151 spoke shave! I’m using the scraper card to knock down these epoxy knot fills in this hickory table. Crazy thing about using such a hard wood, it’s actually sharpening the other edge of the scraper as I use it, not as well as me doing it, but basically I can just keep flipping and scraping if I want to!
