Its #tiptuesday again... This time with a #tip on TIG welding Copper! My best advice... Trust your eyes and maybe even use a magnifying lens in your hood. Copper is one hell of a heat sink, so you will be going full pedal for a moment as the piece gets preheated... Then it melts and blows out very quickly! So as soon as you see the puddle start to form, lean off the pedal and start feeding your filler. Its #tiptuesday again, so today I wanted to turn my attention to leather work. My best tip when tooling leather is watch the moisture content of your workpiece. Too wet and it gets sloppy and squishy. Too dry and it doesn't take the tooling as effectively as it could. Keep a damp rag and wet your workpiece often. #tbt #throwbackthursday to one of the favorite motorcycle parts that i ever made. This little peanut tank was hand formed from sheet steel with hammer and dolly, tuck shrinking, and english wheel. Then the fun started... My client was a huge zombie fan so I plated the hole tank with copper sheet that i made from pipe, all TIG welded together in a gnarly patchwork to look like a diseased heart.
