In addition to my normal Horizon brainrot - I also have She-Ra brainrot.
this afternoon i was finally ready to start sanding my walls in my office/guest bedroom in preparation for painting and installing new cabinets with more storage, with space for a full-ass queen sofa bed rather than a shitty fouton so my guests can sleep in luxury
anyways i pop all my dropcloths up, extra sealed the room because my kitty's got asthma. respirator on, goggles on. sander taken out of storage and slapped a fresh 180 grit sandpaper on it. start it up, and the fucking wheel dry rotted and goes flying off.
i was so ready for this

WiP Working on the little Bunkins (Pumpkins) - Pt 1
As the Blindbox dolls have a very interesting mechanic for the heads to be attache but still are stringed i am able to change the heads. But the bodies have very flimsy s-hooks so the first step was to exchange them for bigger hooks.
Also I removed one of the neck extenders already as they are way too "stick" looking, I will make new ones to give the Pumpkins more neck again.
Next I tested if magnets from my stash would fit and luckily they did, meaning I don't need to order magnets here.
More interesting is the true prep work starting here. Sanding all the pieces before I paint them.
The before and after makes it more noticable.
Of course all 3 heads got a sanding treatment. Some have more texture left than the others due the different ears.
Before I started painting them I attached magnets to the neck pieces and then to the heads.
I will post the painting progress in another post, as I jumped between tasks and it gets quite confusing to follow ... ^^'
Inbetween I started on the neck extenders, I like to fill in waiting times with other crafts to just use the time.
Here are the extenders ready to bake! (made them with cosclay).
While they were baking i prepared the other two bodies for the extendors but I managed to warp a hook and had to restring one of them... as I was done the extenders were done too!
Sadly one of them broke as I wasn't able to remove the full neck piece and played around too much to make it fit, I remade it quickly. ... just to notice the other pieces broke as well. So i had three broken and a new one. I decided to scratch this variant and go with apoxy.
I decided to add some vines to the extender this time and then added them to the neck part directly for more stability.
Luckily this time the neck extenders were durable enoough. I had to restring Bela before putting on the head as they were too loose.
As said the painting and progress of decorating the heads will be an own post as somehow the steps piled up and it's easier to follow the progress like this.
I created a new DIY sanding box thing. It is simply multiple laters of plastic wrap, tape, and gloves. Ill just go ahead and vacuum out the plastic… scraps and bits as well after wiping them up with a paper towel as best i can.
Newbie to Gunpla here. I have this tool set from a recent Gundam Base event and was wondering, which is better for Gunpla sanding: sticks or glass files, etc.? Especially when it comes to nub marks. I'm looking on Amazon and don't want to get too expensive with it.
I just finished my first entry-grade with Strike Gundam and just started on Gunplakun as shown here. Currently, I have another entry-grade, a SD grade, and quite a few high grades, so any info would be helpful as well. YouTube seems to only show so much.
Any other name recommendations? Cause the only thing that comes close is the metal file that came with the kit shown in the pic. Trying not to be to expensive since I only have so much and did a rather shoddy job on the shoulders of Gunplakun that is only covered up so much by a blue sharpie (Think I may have unintentionally rushed it or something).
