Summary
Hans has always strived to live up to his noble title.
Hans has always wanted to be useful and worthy of what he would one day inherit.
However, his life changed drastically after he met Henry, and his efforts became more intense—especially in his desire not to be a burden, to be able to protect Henry in the same way Henry had protected him.
That’s why archery training became his second home: relentless, consuming, the only thing that could define who he was—his one true talent.
And yet, the mask he wore couldn't withstand the pressure. Those very training sessions began to crack something inside him, something he couldn’t control. Not until he and Henry are ambushed by a group of Cumans and become separated from the rest of their group.
This story is a long journey into Hans’s psyche, a shifting blend of flashbacks and present events that delve deep into his character.
Through it, Hans and Henry will lay bare their inner turmoil—and ultimately come to a conclusion.
