Headcanon: Fave/Comfort Movie
Elena's favourite movie of all time is the last unicorn. She saw it when she was six and it has remained her favourite movie ever since. She doesn't tell a lot of people, because she sometimes gets shit for it being a cartoon, but her best friends Bonnie and Caroline know its her favourite.
Sometimes when Elena's in a depression spiral they bust it out, climb into bed with her and they watch it together and play their silly little game they've played since they were little.
Its like "Nose goes" only instead of having to touch your nose and not be the last one, they did a finger on the forehead resembling a unicorn the first time she shows up in the movie, they touch their finger tips together in a triangle shape on their heads when the wizard first shows up, and the same with bull horns on their forehead. Extra points if you were able to win all three in a row.
It may seem really stupid, but it's something thats important to Elena. She hasn't really told Stefan, since shes afraid he'd tease her for it, lord knows Jeremy does, and if Damon found out? Christ...
So for now, it remains a very guarded and sacred little tradition for Elena and her besties. And it's always a promised smile even in a depression spiral. They don't do it every single spiral, but the really bad ones... its a must have. (Sometimes Caroline even lets Elena win the mini games)

Who asks the other on dates: It's prety equal, though Caroline likes planning more so she tends to ask more and by ask I mean she tells Elena they have plans. Who is the bigger cuddler: Elena for sure. Who initiates holding hands more often: Caroline Who remembers anniversaries: Both, but Caroline aggressively Who is more possessive: Caroline, shes a lot more insecure... Who kills the spider: Sure as shit aint caroline, they trap it under a jar and make Liz deal with it. Who asks the the other to marry them: Caroline its like a 3 day event.. Who buys the other flowers or gifts: Elena loves giving gifts. Who would bring up possibly having kids: Caroline Who is more nervous to meet the parents: Neither they've known each other since 1st grade Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry: Elena, angry Caroline is scary Who tries to make up first after arguments: Caroline usually, Elenas stubborn and self righteous most of the time. Who tells the other they love them more often: Caroline, but Elena usually says it back

Elena came down the next morning to caroline's normal over the top breakfast with her and bonnies favourites just all over the kitchen. Way more food than they could ever reasonably need but that was Caroline. Their little christmas was all the more important after all the horrible things that had happened recently.
Its ok, it was really important to Elena too.
Elena had three gifts to give Caroline. In one bag, was an assortment of brand new gel pens, a planner, and some notepads for Carolines organization needs.
In another bag, was a sweater that Elena had picked out with a care-bear on it. It was very specifically the softest fabric she could find, just to make sure it met Carolines texture needs.
And in the third little box, was a silver bracelet that had three charms on it. All Marie from Aristocats.
