Transcript: I am permanently banned from hiring a babysitter on Care.com. Now I didn’t do anything, except drugs. 8 years ago. Apparently they do a background check on all the people, not just the babysitters, but also the families that have childcare needs too. And so after I paid for the subscription, I got this email saying that I am ineligible because of my criminal record, and they refunded me my money. And I appealed that. And just now, 9 months later, I got an email from Care upholding my permanent ban from using their services. Because I have an 8 year old drug conviction. Think about all the single moms in the world who are in recovery but might have drug convictions. They cannot use this service. There is already enough problems with childcare in this country. Why?
