My Ambitions Going Forward #CareerVibes (Dylan’s Post)
Growing up in a big city like #NYC, I was exposed to something called career day throughout my elementary and middle school years. Everyone from firefighters to stock brokers would come in and explain their job to us, hoping to inspire us to take on that same path, trying to persuade a young Dylan to take on that career. But a career that always stuck out to me was a Doctor #MedicalField. Ever since I was little, I always interested in the medical field. That love has only grown larger and larger as I’ve gotten into college. I am interested in the field of medicine as it gives me the ability to put a hand into the world we live and make an impact through making people feel better and doing so much more. #SharingIsCaring
In terms of the work I enjoy the most, I enjoy a variety of things as long as I am able to take on a positive impact by doing it. Hopefully being able to step into the field of medicine provides me with the perfect opportunity to do this type of work. Learning the frameworks and deep dissections of medicine and what it is will allow me to go out there, establish myself, and providing a lending hand to those out there who would need it. When I think about what motivates me when I think about my future I could only think of two things, Me and my #Parents. Just to be in a position to see my parents proud and living a stress free life because of me is something which has motivated me regardless of what I took in #EverythingForThem, and in terms of me, just believing in myself and being the best version of me I can is the best motivation I can honestly have. As LeBron said “You are your best motivation”.
Going forward 4 steps I could take is
1. Do more research in the field I am interested in going in.
2. Look for career opportunities such as internships or part-time positions.
3. Try and see if there are any resources on campus that can help me get into the field I want to. 4. Try and take courses which follow the curriculum for that field.
Taking on these things will allow me to not only gain more exposure to this field, but it will also allow me to utilize the resources that are available to me in positioning myself for the best possible future I can reach. Taking on these steps will allow me to dive into that field, and also allow me to narrow down exactly where I want to go with my career.
