3.15.18: YOU GUYS
Currently *freaking out * because I have a job lead from one of my old contacts - there's a job as director of discharge at a skilled nursing facility that they think I would be perfect for. It's a 9-5 gig with benefits and I have to say, it does sound particularly tasty. I have to beat up my resume and I've been researching interview questions and thinking about how to answer some and how to apply my past experience to discharge planning.
I'm *almost* manic at the moment. For focused I guess but suddenly the room at work seems to small to breathe and I'm going through everything I could possibly need for this interview and making lists and reading reviews of the facility and my heart is just RACING.
On top of all of this I have ZERO interview clothes. Like, none. What I do have is casual clothing from when I worked at the mental health facility and scrubs from my current job, some cocktail dresses, etc. But honestly it's been 2 years since I've had to wear office attire so obviously I need to go shopping. Plus I don't have appropriate office shoes. AND in general my shoe selection currently sucks and I haven't been storing them properly because when I first moved into our place I didn't realize how hardcore the dust was, and now even though my shoes are in an IKEA bag under the bed there is some serious dust coating each pair. Honestly I just have to keep and store them in shoe boxes, literally.
I need to calm down. I'm so fucking anxious and getting ahead of myself. I don't even have an interview lined up, I'm just passing along my resume but seriously? I'm really worried that I won't get enough training and my anxiety surrounding failure at work will cycle up again and I'll be in a huge mess. If I do get this job, which there is no guarantee that I will, I have to go back to therapy and stay in it - no if/ands/or buts about it.
I need to get my head in the game and just stay focused and calm. I need to:
• Re-do my resume
• Buy and interview outfit
• Buy shoes based around that interview outfit
• Make sure my makeup hasn't oxidized and turned color
• Clean out my bag and my car
A clean bag and a clean car ALWAYS helps me feel better, and currently my car is a stinky disaster. It's because of those crazy long 12 hour days when I was going from client to client and was out for lile, 12 hours or something. I just needed FOOD and now the remnants are in my back seat.
I really wish I didn't have a second client after this - I just want to go to the mall and shop and then go home and make dinner for boyfriend and I.
