You're nicaraguan? i had a co worker who was nicaraguan and i always assumed she was jamaican because of her accent.

Yes, I’m Afro-Nicaraguan (or NiCaribbean). My people are Black Creoles from the city of Bluefields, which is right off the coast. A lot of people say that Nicaraguan accents remind them of the Jamaican accent, but I don’t really hear it tbh. There are some similarities, but most Black people in those other countries (like Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and Panama) sound very much alike. Here’s what our accent sounds like:
