She is my Nightlight..
She… She is my nightlight that keeps the darkness at bay Giving me hope and strength so this path i may never stray. I can’t describe the happiness she once brought to me I only wished I had the courage to show the world what she meant to me I could stare at her day after day And she’d brighten my world without having a word to say I never once had a feeling so deep and so strong But she had to walk away because her feelings werent as strong She needed to be happy and she thought I was in the way So i swallowed my pride and hid my love and said i agree to what you have to say So the girl I love continued on her track Not stopping at all to peer back And from then on I have never been the same And that memory I see it every night frame by frame Never give up what you want most in life is what she said to me But she is the only one for me She may never know how I feel about all this But I just hope she finds true happiness Because her smile could light the world for years at a time And if I stop her for that it would be the worlds worst crime. I know there are plenty fishes in the sea But shes my Zombiecheeks and shes the only one for me. -AAd
Carrying chicken is more fun than carrying school books... (22/5/11)
This week I had to cycle home no-handed carrying 1.2kg of raw chicken. I say had to, but really it was my own choice/fault. I'm not really complaining, I got 1.2kg of free chicken!!! I should probably explain, a friend of mine (who is a total legend by the way) basically got a tonne of free chicken from his workplace and kindly let me have some. So yeah, I cycled home carrying raw chicken. My Mum was surprised to say the least, and was glad that she didn't know what I was stupidly carrying while cycling. She then told me of one the stupidest things she had ever carried while cycling.... a cloths drying rack. A proper huge, long clothes rack. Made my day =D So yeah, that was a cool part of my week, but what really made my week was my usual visit to the care home I volunteer at. My friend and I sat and talked to our favourite lady Pearl, and as usual the conversation was distinctly circular, she told us about her Barbadian teacher who 'seemed know everything about everything... except maths...' multiple times, but we didn't care. She's just great to talk too, and I never get tired of her repeating herself ( usually it's me having to do all the repeating - especially when talking to my Brother!). That wasn't the best part, as we were leaving we said our usual goodbyes and telling her we'd see her again next week. We picked up our chairs smiling and then she replied 'thank you for coming to see me again.' My mouth wouldn't stretch wide enough to accommodate my grin, Pearl had remembered us! She had actually remembered us!! I was unbelievable happy. The same lady who seemed unable to remember what she had said 2 minutes ago, and had never recognised us before had remembered us. Made my week. It's little things like this that make me glad I do it. Even with school work piling up leaving me feeling like I have no time and all I wanna do is sleep, I'm glad I still go visit the care home. It's worth it =]
I hope you have a great week too, and good luck to all the people with upcoming exams!
