Carinodens belgicus , Maastrichtian Crimea.
A mosasaur tooth of a Carinodens belgicus from the Couche III in the phosphate mines of Sidi Chennane, Oued Zem, Khouribga, Morocco. This Maastrichtian aged genus is known for its corn kernel-shaped teeth, and very compressed profile compared to Globidens or Igdamanosaurus. The tooth morphology of Carinodens is a very unusual and unique for a mosasaur, at least, until even weirder Moroccan mosasaurs like Stelladens and Xenodens were described in recent years. It is one of the more rare genera found in the phosphate deposits.
