Here are a few drawings I’ve made of Tylosaurus rex, which at 13-14 m (approx. 43-46 ft) long is the largest species of the mosasaur genus Tylosaurus as well as one of the largest and most fearsome mosasaurs of all time. one of these artworks is titled “Always a Bigger Mosasaur” and depicts the animal devouring a juvenile of the smaller Tylosaurus proriger at the bottom. For a long time the largest Tylosaurus specimens were once considered to be a very large member of T.proriger until they were classified as T.rex a few days ago.

I made a ton of species portraits of different mosasuridae and related clades for a video that never ended up getting made, so here they are!

A mosasaur tooth of a Tylosaurus rex from the Ozan Formation in Fannin County, Texas, United States. This marine lizard, the T. rex, is the largest known tylosaurine mosasaur and one of the largest species of mosasaur. These Tylosaurus were previously referred to Tylosaurus cf. proriger.
