Q&A with Cazi Greene: The point of view from a Glader in 20th Century Fox's "The Maze Runner"
Q: So on set, who did you spend most of your time with?
A: I really spent the majority of my time with everyone. I enjoyed getting to know Randall, Blake, Will, and the rest of the cast. I really enjoyed the entire cast and crew but I found myself talking with everyone quite a bit.
Q: What was your favorite scene to film and why?
A: My favorite scene was by far the scene when Minho and Alby are stuck in the Maze and we're all screaming for him them to hurry up. It was also my favorite scene while reading the book.
Q: If you've read the book, what scene was most fun to see come to life?!
A: Like I said above the scene where Minho and Alby were stuck in the Maze that was the turning point in the book where I was like wow I have no idea what to expect now. Which as a reader is a great thing because some books can be very predictable and others are exciting like “The Maze Runner” is.
Q: I'm thinking about pursuing a career in acting and singing myself and since you have experience in both yourself, any advice for me?
A: I think that is an awesome choice! They are both very competitive fields but at the end of the day they can be very rewarding. There is nothing like the excitement you have when people really enjoy what you have to offer and I definitely think singing and acting keeps life interesting. My advice for you is to maintain who you are and what you want to represent. At some point in both industries there Is a time where you may be asked to change this about you or that and you will at the end of the day decide what you want to give up and what you want to gain. I would just say go into both acting/singing for the love of it because if it's the love driving you then you will always enjoy yourself. I am definitely rooting for you and know that you will be great at both of those:) You can do it!!
Q: Assemble a dream team to spend a night in the maze with. Choose up to 3 people, with at least one book character and one celebrity
A: Hmmmm. I definitely think my dream team would have to be Thomas of course because he is slightly connected with the maze and the grievers, myself, and Robert Downey Jr. with his Iron Man costume. So basically Iron Man would carry Thomas and I and fly us out of the maze, Thomas is there to make sure Iron Man stays clear of the grievers, and I'm sitting back enjoying the cool Iron Man ride with Maze Runner scenery.
Q: Being in a cast of almost all guys, you guys had to have some pretty fun times, what was your favorite memory on set/best prank pulled.
A: It was definitely strange being around so many guys for so long, of course there were female crew members etc. but for the most part it felt like boys camp. The entire time filming was a favorite memory. I had a great time really seeing a book that I really really enjoyed come to life. As far as pranks go I don't think there were any super creative pranks pulled just because it was so hot and we were all extremely tired but there was a lot of throwing sticks at people sleeping and covering people with grass while they were trying to rest. Definitely not the most creative pranks but they were very funny seeing people so tired get angry about something like grass in their shoe.
Q: Do you keep in touch with any of your TMR cast members like Will or Dylan still? Or was it mostly all work and no play with your cast?
A: I've only kept in touch with a handful of people from the cast just because it's hard to really connect or meet up with people when most of the cast lives in different places and are always filming different projects. For most of us I think we are forced to settle for a simple hey, whats up? How are you? On twitter or something. As far as the work and play on set I think there was a good ratio of both while filming TMR Every time I wrapped for the day I left feeling tired but also laughing and in a good mood. I think that is the type of environment that good quality films come out of.
Q: And last, I'm just entering high school, what would your advice be for me and what was your experience like?
A: My advice for your freshman year of high school would be to enjoy learning, seeing, and experiencing new things. When I was a freshman in high school I focused on just seeing what it was all about. It was a great learning experience, I had a lot of fun, and I really was able to find out who I was and was able to learn from the mistakes of others. I would just say make sure you go into class everyday knowing that on that specific day you will enjoy the good and learn from the bad. If you be yourself everything will all slowly fall into place. Make sure to keep who you are in the back of your mind always and don't give into peer pressure that might arise. All very basic stuff you got this:)
And that's all! Having the opportunity to interview Cazi(Carl)was so fun! Such a great actor with great potential : ) AND THE BEST FRIEND EVER AHAHSHAHAWHUWSJNSN
