A sigh escaped Carmen’s lips as she stared at one of the many posters plastered on the walls of the hallway. The annual Valentine’s Day dance was that Saturday and everyone was going. Well, except Carmen. She didn’t have a dress, she didn’t have a date and she didn’t want to go with friends. It wasn’t a dance friends would specifically go to together. Carmen was brought from her thoughts when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
“Are you planning on going?” Olivia asked the female softly. Carmen stood there, thinking for a moment before shaking her head.
“Absolutely not. No guy, or girl, has asked me. Plus, I don’t have a dress so it’s not like I could go.” Carmen shrugged as she headed over to her locker to get her books for her to do her homework. Olivia frowned some as she followed her friend.
“We can go shopping tonight! I’m free and my mom left the car for me.” Olivia tried to smile some as Carmen turned towards the brunette.
“I-I don’t have the money. My mom’s in the hospital again so we need to save money for when she gets out.” Carmen admitted. Olivia was the only one that knew her mother was sick. She was the only person she trusted enough with her home life. Olivia nodded as she thought for a few minutes.
“I have a dress or two from last year that should fit you. Try to make one of them work for you. My mom’s out of town so you can stay at my place.” Olivia bargained with Carmen. Carmen thought about it for a little before nodding.
“But I need to visit my mom for at least an hour after school. If that’s okay with you…” Carmen asked. Olivia quickly nodded with a smile.
“Yeah, that’s totally fine. Just come over to my house once you’re ready. I’ll cook us some dinner and I’ll have it ready when you come over. See you soon.” Olivia said before turning and heading to leave the school. Carmen smiled as she checked the time before rushing towards her car to head to the hospital.
Carmen only left the hospital after her mom fell asleep since she had come back from some tests with her doctor. Carmen headed to Olivia’s apartment to do homework, eat, and try to work on the dress. Once Carmen walked in with her backpack, she set it down by the couch and headed to the kitchen where the smell of pizza filled the place.
The two ate, did their homework before Olivia took Carmen to her room. She had two dresses sitting out on her bed. The long light pink prom dress she wore last year and an older short white dress she had laying around. The top of the white dress was lacy and long sleeved while the bottom of the pink dress was perfect, a bit long but perfect. Carmen looked over to Olivia and smiled.
“Can you help me try them on?” Carmen asked and Olivia stood up. Carmen stood up and quickly stripped out of her clothes as she was just in her bra and panties. Olivia helped Carmen get the white dress on, zipping the back up. As Carmen smoothed down the dress some, she looked herself over in the mirror.
“That dress looks really nice on you. Fuck, even better than I looked.” Olivia laughed as she looked at Carmen in the mirror with her. The dress came down to her knees. Carmen wasn’t a fan of all white but she had to agree with Olivia. She did look nice.
“I have to agree with you, Liv, but it’s too much white. What if… I cut the bottom off the pink dress and sew it onto the top of this dress? Cut the bottom a bit shorter, leaving it longer in the back?” Carmen explained as Olivia looked between the dress on the bed and the dress on Carmen.
Over the next few days, Olivia and Carmen worked hard on making the dress she wanted. Saturday morning came around and the two put the final touches on it before Carmen put it on. Olivia looked at her with a large smile as she walked into her bedroom.
“You look stunning. Gorgeous.” Olivia told Carmen. The girl blushed some as she turned to look over Olivia in the black dress she had on. It was a body con dress and Carmen loved it on the other girl.
“So do you. Wow….” Carmen said. It was now Olivia’s turn to blush. Turning towards her alarm clock, Olivia noticed the time.
“We should get to the dance. You are my date, right?” Olivia said as she went to gather a few things in the clutch purse she had. Carmen turned to the girl and raised a brow.
“I’m your date? Sure.” A smile formed over both of their lips as they left the bedroom and headed to get their shoes on before leaving the apartment.
