favorite thing about them

Unrelenting kindness and how fiercly protective she is. Perhaps why I tend to say this is is my favourite thing is because she went through a deep loss of someone, and a deep loss of herself, and came out better at the end, and is still kind.

least favorite thing about them

Don't really have anything for this as her character was under-utilised and under-developped, no thanks to S. Meyer. Though, perhaps that is exactly what my dislike is.

Esme has a really expensive set of noise cancelling headphones. I headcanon her as sensitive to sensory imput, with some days being worse than others, and her hightened senses really do not help this. When the noise cancelling headphones were first invented, a world opened up for her and she uses them whenever she can't leave the house but needs the world to shut up for a minute.

Do you think carlisle or esme get involved when there is bickering between the younger coven members in a regular basis or do you reckon they leave them to figure it out?

they'll both tell you that they leave the kids to their own antics and they're both dead wrong. They do 'try' to stay out of it for the most part but there are certain topics that will get them involved and those differ for each of them.

Carlisle is 23 years old. He is very much "one of the boys" and, despite what he says, he absolutely loses maturity in their company. He's ended up in the centre of many baseball related disagreements. Emmett and he support different teams (purely because Emmett finds it fun), so the trash-talk is unreal. And because his sons encourage his involvement, Carlisle goads bickering between the other boys. Jasper once bet Emmett he could take down the larger of two lynx before he did and Carlisle, stood between them, really sucked air in through his teeth like "wow, Emmett i'm not sure if i'd take that disrespect personally." Shit tends to end with a lot of rough-housing and Carlisle has been known to even join in on that when it's light-hearted enough.

Esme tends to stay out of things because she has a whole brain, unlike the rest. But it is just a tendency. 90 years in a house of other vampires and you're gonna end up in the middle of some disagreements. Most of the time, she'll accidentally end up mediating between Rosalie and Edward, which usually ends with her telling them both being petty and they can go sort it out themselves. She gets a lot more heavily involved when the topic is other women. Esme hears an ounce of judgement from Ed and she will lay down the law firmly bc jesus is he a dumbass. She's been stung by his madonna-whore complex enough times, so those topics usually have her siding w Rosalie. Otherwise, she does a fairly good job at keeping a middle ground and breaking up fights, or more often, ushering them outside where they can't hurt her house. There are a few times where the argument will be between Carlisle and someone else: Alice wasn't best pleased when Carlisle tried to ban wap from the house and Esme had to remind him he couldn't do that. She's most often the person that people defer to and when Carlisle huffs and grumbles his acceptance, its just another fun reminder for everyone who is actually in charge here.

But then there's this specific mood that Esme gets in. That mood where she's decided she's bored of being the sensible one and she's gonna make life mildly difficult for dr sexy just because it's fun. Then she's very much the one like "ohh Carlisle, did you just hear Jasper? He said that one was a foul ball" while she checks her nails or sips on her starbucks cup full of deer blood. Sometimes its just funny to see him irritated and thats called a happy healthy marriage look it up
