It's so insane to me that canonically Carlisle is 23!!! What in the fuck? The town of Forks really believed that at 20, Dr Carlisle Cullen adopted three 16-year-old kids? His kids are four years younger than him? Esme's 26! Esme's sibling said You know who's perfect to take care of my kids? My sister who was 8 when they were born! That means they've only been married five years MAX. Also, Carlisle's not even old enough to be out of medical school yet! i just caught up with rope finally and i love it so much i need more rnrn.

two things i have questions about.

i noticed you dont mention the glittering skin. is that not a thing in your universe? i love the changes youve made to the canon i was just wondering if this is also one.

this one isnt just a rope one ive seen it in other vampire media too about vampires not showering that much/at all and i get the not having body odor thing but do you think they would still shower if they were covered in mud/blood etc or do you think they just do a wipe off or something like that?

Also can i just say op you are producing some TOP TIER food for thought!!! You're so right i havent mentioned glittery skin once and honestly this is both due to my laziness in trying to shoehorn it into the story (youd be so surprised how many ideas i have that just never make it in and would exist in my own Rope Illustrated Guide if i had one), but also i had another idea for what happens when the vampires hit the sun. Idk if its wayyyy too extra to include tho. If im not too mistaken (and i really probably am), i dont think the Cullens have stepped into direct sunlight yet. There's a scene (possibly a number of chapters away) where sunlight will be present and that's when i was going to confront the To Glitter or Not To Glitter question. Happy to have you weigh in here honestly, do we go extra or do we stick to the classic Coachella look? If i go too extra for you tho, please feel free to just delete that from your reading experience and replace with glittering, thats honestly so chill.

Also love the second question about showering, its so interesting! I am a FAN of vampire physiology, I have theories on vampire pee that no one wants to listen to (it hasnt come up in Rope yet purely bc its Esme's pov) so the idea of vampire sweat is great. I personally dont think they should sweat per se, but i do envision dust for sure. Dust is mostly human skin cells, so I think Carlisle would get dusty the quickest, and I think its most visible on his hair (vampire dandruff).

But also i love to concoct grosser ideas of our beloved monsters so, hear me out, I think vampires should secrete a venom. Not one that turns, bc that would be a colossal pain in the ass lets be real, but one that does smell of them. Whether that smells sweet like in canon, or of their death like in Rope, thats entirely up to you. But the idea of a vampire slowly getting slimier as the days go by. Or if not slimy, smelling more strongly of something that a ripe body shouldnt smell of. Wonderfully uncanny. And i dont think it would be linked to physical exertion at all, but perhaps a sympathetic reaction to threats, a defence mechanism, a byproduct of thirst for blood going unsated. THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.

But no youre so right i think they definitely shower after a messy hunt. They probably could wipe the blood and mud off (they probably have commercial size boxes of dettol surface wipes in the garage) but lets be real, a shower feels so gooood i would not be passing that up

Big scary and always ready for war Rose is soul bonded to big scary and always ready for war Emmett. Together they're soft and gooey and utterly ridiculous. He'd do anything for her and she'd rip the world apart piece by piece for him. They share hobbies and travel the world together. They mourn their humanity together. They dance together. They fiercely protect their coven together. They fuck like animals.

I personally can't get over their relationship and how strange it must have been in the beginning. How much growth they had to do together to overcome their personal reservations about their new immortality and how they fit not only together but into the bigger picture of their family. Rose didn't want this life, but now she's immovably tied to it because of Emmett. Emmett doesn't care that he's now a story book monster, he just wants Rose.

This relationship is one that my brain chews on all the time.

Good. He gave them eternal life. He doesn't think they are damned.

Some combination of the above. It's complicated.

Ed and Em were OK because someone else asked him to.

Rosalie was a bad, the others were well-meaning.

Someone has to do the turning-into-vampires part.

Better than the way Aro, Maria, Victoria, Sasha etc created vampires.

I'd let him turn me.
