hey how do you go about making four eyes on a humanoid character feel natural? I've been playing around with it myself but I haven't found a solid technique for it; I was wondering if you had

What makes human(oid) characters read natural is their ability to express. Humans have a large variety of expressions that we can read easily thanks to eyebrows.

The issues that occur with 4-eyed characters that makes them look unnatural can be the lack of eyebrows.People often give these characters eyebrows above the upper pair of eyes but that can pose a problem because 1) it gives the upper pair expression and leaves the lower pair very expressionless, and 2) dat forehead clutter tho

What I do is, use the upper pair of eyes to serve the role of eyebrows!

It utilizes both pairs of eyes into the design of the face and therefore makes the character look and act more natural - there aren’t any meaningless features on the face because every part serves a purpose!

Here’s some expressions to show how I use “eye-brows”;

Also, with Flash being a fusion that often has Boulder and Sunny communicating while being fused, I also sometimes play around with which pair of eyes is emoting more; generally the upper pair of eyes is Sunny’s and lower pair Boulder’s, and when “Sunny” talks to “Boulder” within Flash, Boulder’s eyes are depicted as either closed or looking down.

oh huh… was met with a lot of lukewarmness but ill take what positivity i can get from a somewhat popular youtuber. ive been workin on a video with some clickbaity “why u should wawtch wordgirl” but then i realized its me, me is the one who thinks dr two brains is handsome so

I mean as a fan (who’s actually seen it during its beginning) I know it’s not the absolute greatest show to hit the screens that is worthy of God’s Hall of Fame, but it’s still a very good show (especially for its target demographic). And for being a PBS Kids show made in the mid 2000′s when flash cartoons were abundant, it’s one of the better ones.

I mean it’s a silly harmless educational superhero cartoon aimed towards kids and never takes itself too seriously. 

But EVERYONE (even people who dislike it) can agree it’s God Tier compared to Peppa “crispy-bacon” Pig

Plus I’ve seen this youtuber’s videos before, so I know what to expect. At this point, I’ll take whatever I can get. 

omg you should XD Just spends 10 minutes talking about how Dr. Two Brains is literally the BEST PBS kids character to ever hit TV and can kick Rick Saucy-loud-mouth-drunk’s ass in a brawl.
